Because of the fires in San Diego, and all of Southern California, tommorow night's game b/t the Dolphins and the Chargers is being moved to Phoenix, Arizona.

My question is, who is going to be at this game? The Chargers fans probably won't make that 8 hour drive to goto the game... and its not like there's very many Miami/San Diego fans in Arizona.

Of course, all our worries should really be with those who are in need right now in California, but tommorow night's game shapes up to be very interesting on many fronts.

I wonder if the NFL plans on compensating those who had tickets to the game but are unable or unwilling to go to Phoenix?

It will be weird to see a game played in front of a mainly empty stadium.

Indeed... but I STILL don't see many people being at the stadium if they do that.

They might have been better off moving it to a place that doesn't get much live NFL football (VEGAS!!!!), but I understand that they want to have an NFL facility.

If you were a Phoenix resident, why would you go watch the Chargers vs. Dolphins? If the NFL was smart, they would have postponed the game. I'm assuming the LA Coliseum or Rose Bowl was booked.

    Tickets should be dirt cheap.

It will be amusing to see people wearing Cardinal and ASU gear though.

If the NFL needs to fill up the stadium there should be plenty of ASU students around.

    Arrgh... damn semantics!

Just like Irving is sooooo far away from Dallas.

And, sugarland is soooo far away from Houston.

I guess you have to let these little cities have their fun in the sun.

So....this won't be any different from any other Cardinals home game? :)

Hell, I'd put money on this game out drawing a regular Cardinals home game...

Or like on the movies, put the cardboard cut-out in the stands, hell, they will be smarter then most of the Charger fans.

I heard the tickets are free. Anyone can just walk up and go right in. If I were in college there, I'd go. When are you ever going to be able to go to a free NFL regular season game (much less a Monday night game) again? Even if it's Miami and SD.

I'll bet there will be at least 45,000 people there. Should be interesting...and strange.

    wow... free.

there goes 1/10th of the ticket money for the year for the chargers owner... plus having to pay to use the arizona stadium etc.. I suppose nfl will give him something though

And I'm sure he has insurance. And there's probably some money from FEMA for using the stadium as an evac center.

If those guys were really tough, they would play in the middle of a wild-fire-infested, blazing stadium. How cool would that be?

I'm sure the stadium will be filled. I mean, its not every day the state of Arizona gets a matchup between to NFL teams. ;)
