Who are the realistic options with this? I have heard Swift, this would be a dream come true! If we sign Daniels and get Swift I think we are set to compete with anybody in the west. Swift and Daniels are still pretty young and both have Defensive promise. AD/LUE TMAC/BOKI JJ/BOKI SWIFT/HOWARD/TAYLOR MING/HOWARD/TAYLOR THIS WOULD BE A JVG TYPE OF TEAM!
unless we give swift 6 years 38 mill. i dont know if we can get past memphis matching. and even, then, they might, they just gave it to cardinal.
first off - I am not high on swift (and I don't want another Howard v. Mo T debate) that aside - I think that Atlanta is the backup plan for big Stro' is Memphis falls through and with Okur cashing in... you know Swift is eyeing the prize $$$
He is young and has the talent to be a JVG type of player. I think he would thrive in our system. I think he is worth the money. He is a different player then Howard and Taylor. I think he is still a bit raw. Ooooozzzes with athleticism. Much more of a defensive presence

If we can get Daniels then our PG problem is solved. We probably still would have a fair amount of the TE left to use as well. We would be looking to add another big man and could use some of the left over TE money to get one. If we already had our backup center in tow....I still wouldn't mind using some MLE money for Eric Williams. I just think he would be dynamite on this JVG team. I like the 2/3 rotation of Tmac/JJ/Williams. It would give us constant good perimeter defense to go along with our good inside defense with Yao.
Of course he would be!! I am trying to be realistic here! But there is NO WAY anyone is getting Swift for the MLE. Players of Swift's caliber are going for over 8M a year! That's what Foyle got. Okur got 10M, Camby got 10M. I think Swift is in their class.
hehe, I m from memphis, and i watched Swift play, he's an excellent center, excellent defender, he can match up with any Western conf center, especially now with shaq to miami. Ranks #9 in the NBA in Blocks Per 48 Minutes(3.71) hehe, so when yao's on bench, we will have somebody smack Duncan and KG He's a cato like player (is his stat better than kato? i forgot), but cheaper i think... I never watched AD play before, but his ATR is awsome, quite an upgrade from stevie francis. so, AD is cool.. if houston get AD+swift, it's definetly worth the money to buy season tickets. hehe
Swift is a restricted FA with Bird rights. The Grizz can match ANY offer that another team gives him. Supposedly West has made it known that he will match any full MLE contracts, but a team with cap room that hands him a 50+ million dollar deal could probably steal him away.
