Other than Sosa, there just is no story there. They are still a good offensive team with no pitching. They traded John Danks away to the Sox. He's their 5th starter. He would have probably been the Rangers #2 or #3 starter. At least the D-Rays have some very good prospects.
i got stuck with the Rangers game on FSSW in Lubbock.... No 'Stros tonight..... i did get to see the last 3 1/2 innings. The Rangers announcer, Josh Lewin, was mentioning the no hitter for at least the last 3 innings..... He was trying to WILL a hit for the Rangers, it was actually sad to watch.
only caught the highlights.. didn't get a replay on the grounder that was a close call at 1st. Was it the right call definitively?
Why is it not a perfect game? Sure he gave up a BB, but he erased it with a pickoff. He only faced 26 ABs....... It sure seems perfect to me. DD
Perfect game = 27 up, 27 down, every batter faced doesn't reach a base. Ever. You can actually face the minimum amount of batters many ways... some of them even by giving up a hit (batter gets a base hit, but gets thrown out trying to stretch it into a double). A perfect game also means no errors... it truly is a team effort. In the end, you can see why there have been so few perfect games (and they do, indeed, have to be perfect).
Lewin is a jackass. He said "no-hitter" as many times as possible over the last few innings. Also, on the Yahoo game page, the had "Buehrle as a no-hitter through 6 innings" on the notes at the bottom of the page. Don't these people know anything about the baseball gods?
This is right up there with your "Does a walk count as an AB?" question. You must've been one hell of a scorekeeper in college.
