Maurice Jones-Drew revealed Tuesday that his left knee was "bone-on-bone" by the end of the season, and his recovery from meniscus surgery is now expected to take four months.

The injury was initially described as a routine scope that would have Jones-Drew "back to normal" in short order. His clarification leads us to suspect the surgery may have, in fact, been microfracture in nature. Until sitting out the final two games, Jones-Drew played the whole season with a torn meniscus. It's fair to wonder if doing so will shorten his career in the long run. Torry Holt and Antonio Bryant never captured pre-injury form after bone-on-bone conditions related to meniscus surgeries.

    Wow, that really sucks...... :(

He's a warrior so hopefully he recovers... Damn.

Big deal. If he was tough, he would have played through it.

    Haha.

I'm guessing your sarcastic since he said that to Jay Cutler but Jones-Drew played the entire season with a torn meniscus. ;)

But seriously, if he needed microfracture knee surgery, that's not a good sign.

Except the last two games, when he pulled an Urban Meyer and quit on his team when they needed him most to make the playoffs. Wuss. ;)

    Doesn't matter.

Jaguars missed there chance after losing to the Clots.

Jones-Drew played 14 games with over 1,200+ yards on a bum knee.

    Difficult to do...

And about Jay Cutler, everyone around here hates him so much. He just wanted to avoid Obama going to the superbowl! ;)

So, if the dumbass would have just sat for a week or 2 early on when he was initially injured, he might have been there for his team when they actually needed him?

There's no need to pile on MJD for this. we as Houston fans don't need our comeuppance.

The guy put his foot in his mouth about Cutler, but he did play a strong season for a team that was in the playoff chase until week 17. And all on a bum leg, so hopefully this shows he can persevere and rehab it enough to come back next season as strong as before.

Interesting that MJD's career may never be the same after his macho act last season while Cutler will be ready to go come training camp.

Sometimes "bravery" is stupid, especially when it comes to knee injuries.

Ignorantly opening your fat trap about someone else can also be stupid, but at least he kinda sorta maybe backtracked.

This doesn't sound good for his career.

Bone on bone isn't good. Didn't Curtis Martin retire because of that?

Yeah the rumor is micro-fracture, which will probably end his career.
