Q: "Who would be on your all-time greatest team of NBA players?"

A: "Other than myself (he smiled), I would take Magic Johnson at point guard and Jerry West at the two (guard). Then I'd have Larry Bird and Kevin McHale (at forwards) and Hakeem Olajuwon (at center)."

    Q: "What's your favorite color?"

A: "Blue (North Carolina, no doubt)."

Q: "Who's the best defensive player you ever played against?"

A: "Joe Dumars — he was the toughest guy for me to drive by"

Q: "Who was the hardest guy for you to guard?"

    A: "Probably (Damon) Stoudamire"

    Q: "Why did you retire?"

A: "There were no other challenges"

Q: "Will you ever play in the NBA again?"

    A: "No"

Q: "Have you ever played (Vince) Carter 1-on-1 and can you beat him?"

A: "Do you think he can (beat him 1-on-1)?"

Someone had the audacity to shout "Yes!"

Kids say the darndest things, don't they?

"Well," Jordan said, a sly smile growing slowly wider, "I guess we'll never know, will we?"

What about Mad Max?! Vernon gave him some of his hardest fought games!

MJ was quoted as saying that Mitch Richmond was the toughest player to guard.

    I was surprised!

I lived in Chicago during the first year and a half of Jordan's comeback. Stoudamire used to rip the Bulls. Here are his numbers:

    '95-'96--4 games, 24.5 ppg on 48.1% shooting, 56% on 3-pt. shooting(!), 11.5 assists, 5.3 rebounds

    '96-'97--4 games, 26.0 ppg on 45.9% shooting, 34.8% on 3-pt. shooting, 12.0 assists, 6.0 rebounds

I can't believe it! What was MJ thinking? He said that Stoudamire was the hardest to guard - what an idiot, what about Iverson or Richmond or Mad Max or Isiah or Magic!

Of course I would assume that Jordan would know who HE found the hardest to guard.

On Richmond - I think MJ said he was the second best 2-guard in the league (and that was quite a few years ago) - basically it was MJ giving some respect to Mitch, and it related to a specific season [IMG]

It's just a shame that Jordan was too scared to face Dream in the Finals. It would have been a good matchup.

I dont think mj was scared but i think he does know the rockets always had there number,if only we could ever of got out of the west!

I can see where Jordan thought stoudamire was the most difficult to guard FOR HIM.Damon was just to quick for him!

I'm pretty sure that MJ would know who was harder for him to guard than any of us, since we're not him.
