While that is true, it is not Jordan's fault that the Rockets could not make it to the NBA finals during the Bull's 6 championship. Due to the Rocket's lack of ability to make the finals during the Bull's reign, we'll never know for sure if the Rockets would have beaten the Bulls.

i don't care what anyone says I think we would have took them.

Either way that's one of the best match-ups that never was.

Maybe one day it will be Steve's Rockets vs. Elton's Bulls.

I'm an MJ fan. But still I think that Houston could've beat them. The bulls had absolutely no one to stop hakeem but the rockets had a Mad max or cassel or even drexler who possibly could've slowed jordan down, so with that said the rockets would've had a pretty good chance.

I'm not trying to take anything away from his Airness but I am sick of people discounting Hakeem and the Rockets' championships because they didn't play MJ in the Finals. In 1995 as a 6th seed they beat the top 4 teams on their way to the Championship including teams featuring Barkeley, Shaq, Karl Malone, and David Robinson. What is worst is that some of these guys are now considered greater players than Hakeem. While MJ's run is nothing short of miraculous there is still no way you can discount Hakeem just because they didn't meet in the Finals.

You could also say Hakeem never went through MJ.

You know...as big as a Rockets fan that I am (and based on My rockets collecton of nunerous things, I am)....I am not sure we could have beaten the Bulls....

But I wanna make this one point......For those people who say that the Rockets two rings are tainted becuase Jordan wasn't around.......well,,,they are then saying that Michael Jordan is bigger than the NBA.....and that is definitely not true.......

They are in a way saying...that the NBA should shut down since Jordan is not around.....because no champion will never be as good as the Bulls...

And the Bottom Line is this....You cannot discount the Rockets two titles, they were for real,,,and last time I check MJ was in the league scoring 55 vs the Knicks and many games in the 40's in the 1995 Playoffs......so The Bulls had their chance to meet the Rockets...and They did not get it done.

The Rockets-Bulls fantasy Finals will always be debated....and that is one thing Utah can't say.....

Even though Chicago has four more rings than the Rockets do.......Chi-town fans can never say outright that The Bulls would have beaten the Rockets....and vice versa......

But it sure is fun isn't it?

"It's great to have that inside-outside balance," Francis said. "We've tried to get that all season, with Hakeem and me clicking at the same time.

Now that its time for retrospectives on Hakeem's career I think one fact has to be emphasized for all of those who discount the Rockets championships because they didn't play the Bulls.

REMEMBER THE BULLS NEVER PLAYED THE ROCKETS AND HAKEEM'S ROCKETS WERE ONE OF THE FEW TEAMS TO HAVE A WINNING RECORD AGAINST MJ'S BULLS!!!

It isn't our fault that MJ was flailing at curveballs during the first Rockets Championship and that he couldn't get out of the East during the Rocket's second.

I think this post was made the other way around out of sarcasm because it's always said that Dream never went through mj.

JBIIRockets- I don't know if you know this, but we actually had a winning record against the bulls in their heyday.

Biased or not I have to go with The Rockets on this one because mj may be the better player, but Dream is one of the few in his class and a center will be more dominate than a guard 75% of the time if not more. Also KGPD21 makes a good point about our players holding jordan and no bull holding Dream (except Matt giving him a hug.)

Good points guys. Let me add that the Rockets were 5-1 against the Bulls in the regular season from 90-93, the years of the Bulls first 3 peat.

-As we know, Vernon Maxwell always frustrated Jordan. MJ got his points, but had to jack more than his usual number of shots and Hakeem was dominating inside against the Bulls "3 headed monster."

-The point that the Rockets had a better answer for MJ than CHI did for Hakeem is a great one. Look at the Centers Hakeem torched in 94-95: Ewing, Robinson, and Shaq. Compared to those guys, playing against the "3 headed CBA Monster" would have been a joke. And the Rockets had the outside shooting to make teams pay for doubling and tripling Hakeem.

-BBall is all about matchups. The Rockets from 90-95 matched up VERY WELL against the Bulls, thus the awesome regular season record vs. them. By the same token, it was the damn Sonics that ALWAYS gave the Rockets fits.

I have much more confidence that we'd have pounded MJ in the early to mid 90's in the Finals than a series against the Sonics. Seattle had those long armed defenders who knew to completely stifle the Rockets offense.

-As for the Rockets with Barkley in 96, that team would have gotten crushed by the Bulls IMO in the finals. But I think any of the Rockets teams from 90-95 would have beaten Chicago.
