It seems like stupid mistakes kill the Rockets. The question is... are our players just stupid? Or poorly coached. Something to think about.
Congrats. You just made a r****ded post. Don't think that I'll be bullied by your post count. If you make a statement, back it up. There were numerous r****ded mistakes tonight, and thats a fact.
I'll try to bring the IQ up a bit... To me, I see two distinct issues that seem to face the Rockets: 1. Losing composure during a streak by their opponent. When their opponent goes on a little streak, the Rockets have the tendency to panic a bit and it makes it worse. Guys like Francis and Mobley look like guys who feel like they have to take over the game. They forget that you don't win the game with single shots. You have to just stop the bleeding and keep your composure and that usually start with defense. But, the Rockets start to panic and, before you know it, the wheels come off. 2. Defensive rotations. Granted, Dallas has maybe the best offensive rotation in the leauge and certainly three of the most deadly weapons, but the Rockets REALLY struggle on rotations. During the championship seasons, there was no team better at making defensive rotations than the Rockets. Some of it is youth; the lack of understanding of the system due to just lack of experience. Most of the problem has to do with lack of communication on the floor and lack of understanding of the defensive abilities of their teammates, which will come with time. The former Rockets had the best backstop of all time in Olajuwon. If Griffn and Yao turn into that type of defensive front line, everything will improve.
no, nomar, you are stupid. any jackass can get on the computer after a tough loss (?) and go, "yeah stupid plays, stupid players, whaawhaa whaaa" the mavs are the best team in the nba, it was just a difficult game. thats it. stupid thread
Ya, this is the ONLY time the Rockets have ever played foolishly in the 4th q. It's merely coincedental. I can't stand Pollyannas who are more blind than Stevie Wonder. Francis is shooting way too many "Sportscenter" layups, when he should be looking to pass to someone who has a better shot.
Just like others of us can't stand whiny doomsday posters who claim the Rockets suck after every missed shot.
How about this. Tied with one second to go until the half. We turn it over at halfcourt, and foul a prayer of a shot. Three free throws, three points. Big fun, right?
Najara slams two separate Rockets on two separate plays in the face, and no call. Norris waves a hand in Najara's face that might have touched his arm, and he gets the call. What is the real stupid call here?
So you think that play wasn't a mistake from the Rocket's standpoint. Regardless of the call, it was a stupid miskate for Norris to be anywhere near Najera on that shot.
Some of like PG's who pass to their 10/12 big man in the post . That was the mistake that cost us the game, mo. Although, I must say, I think that crowd noise and Rudy's sub paterns hurt, too. Is there any reason why Yao AND Steve were benched at the beginning ofthe 4th? We had no scoring...
A half-court shot at the buzzer...how many times have Stevie and Cuttino been mugged at the end of the half with no call. It's just not called unless blood is spilled, yet it wasn't even clear that Moochie touched his elbow. FWIW, sometimes, one team is just shooting better. Yao made shots (duh!), Rice made a few 3's, everyone else had good looks and no one could hit a damn thing. Was anyone cold on the Mavs? We didn't play a mistake-free game by any means, but with some decent shooting from only one or two more players, we could have made it a serious battle at the end. It happens, so what. I still saw some very good things tonight to get excited about.
PLEASE .. PLEAAAASSEEE JEFF SAY THAT SH*T AGAIN so sick of this Trade this guy Start this guy Potential pimp crap Rocket River
