Young poward forward who can run This player does not have to be a big name. Just somebody who can grab a few rebounds here and there, run the the floor and slash to the bucket for the easy buckets that Hayes seems to get,but he lays up,you know a Chuck Hayes type with enough height to dunk the ball and block shots. Then my friends the Rockets would become inthe words of THE DREAM ,"Unbeatable".And I believe we have the asset to trade for a player like this J.HOWARD,who, from watching the first two games is the odd man out . ;)

Stromile Swift would be nice in exchange for Juwan. He would solve oour worries at backup C, and give us a different look than Battier at PF while making 50% of his shots, rebounding better than Juwan, and being a much better shotblocker as well.

Man I wish we had dealt Juwan to Memphis in stead of Swift. I would put all my money on Houston winning the championship if we had Swift rather than Howard right now. He has so many of the qualities we can use on this team.

hot damn! why must we persist in talking about bloody Stromile Swift?

he's gone, he's waste of space. And im glad he's wasting space in memphis again rather than Houston.

JVG has said now on multiple occasions that his goal for a PF is to get a guy that can space the floor by hitting open J's.

now, i never said that! But be realistic - do you really think Memphis wanted to take on Howard's contract? Dont think so...

Swift is a never was. At least Howard is a vet, and has some semblance of a bball IQ.

Jake Tsakalidis appears to be the missing link, or rather The Missing Link.

We are not getting a super PF anytime soon, so can we stop talking about it? (I know, that's too much to ask. :p ) But seriously, we just need Hayes to develop a short-mid level jumper and we are set at PF. He may be short but he plays to his advantages and is effective.

Oh, and I -would- rather have Howard than Swift. Howard may not be a star anymore, but at least he is consistent. With Swift, you never know what you're going to get so you can't depend on a play being executed properly with him on the floor. Howard at least knows what to do and you know he will always hit that mid-jumper.

I too rather have swift over howard, but be realistic, if we wanted that kind of player( eluding to the thread starter) we gotta forkout some serious cash or hope we get a lottery pick. our team as it stands now in my opinion is good enough to challenge atleast 90% of the teams in the league.

I thought this thread HAD to be a joke when I saw the first post.

To anyone who says they would like to have Swift back, I have only one thing to say: What the hell is the MATTER with you?

Dude, Kirk SNYDER would do a better job at Stro's position than Stro did.

I know it's politically correct to give all this preferential treatment to the mentally challenged, but can we please stop with the Stro talk? That guy has the hoops IQ of a goldfish! The only thing Stro should be doing in an NBA Stadium is selling programs.

You guys are right, it's been talked about too much. We don't know if Memphis would've done the deal with Howard rather than Swift. I do think that Swift would be the much better backup C, and I do think he performed well for an MLE player last season. I also think that he would come off the bench, like Juwan will, but would've done a better job off the bench as he provides more of a spark and change of pace.

But let's talk about other options. What do you guys think of Luther Head for Nick Collison? They do seem to be lacking at the backup SG spot (Damien Wilkins), but not at the PF/C spots (Swift, Petro, Fortson, Sene, Wilcox).

    Luther for Collison straight up?

    or

Luther Head and Juwan Howard (and TE) for Collison, Fortson and Wilkins?

I think that would be decent for both teams.

Honestly though, I don't think I want to manke any trades until we see how the "Battier at PF" project turns out.

    Chuck Hayes in lifts?

    Shane Battier?

    I got nothing.
