Which one of these position would you like us to acquire.....assuming we ship out Dorsey, Head or Novak.
options 2 and 3 were addressed in the draft with greene* *assuming his LVSL play translates in to regular season play.
I don't think a "minor" trade will net the Rockets a third scorer or a starting PG. I chose backup SG as that seems to be the most realistic out of those options.
Personally, I don't think "minor trade" means any of those things. Morey made it clear that it was going to be a move to clean up the roster, so I wouldn't expect much more than a "2 of our scrubs for 1 of their scrubs" or a "1 of our scrubs for their trade exception" type deal.
we are probably gonna trade for a back up center since woods was just released and deke returning isnt a certainty
I was hoping that a minor trade would net something along the lines of Memphis' spare PG's, but it'll probably just end up with Novak for a 2nd rounder or something.
Your poll has nothing to do with the thread title. Asking what we most need between 1)starting pg 2)backup sg and 3)"third scorer" sg/sf--is not going to be obtained in a minor trade. And seriously who would pick choice 2 over 3 when asking what we need most?
Acquiring J.R. Smith would be option 3......acquiring someone like Mo Evans or Posey would be option 2. There's a big difference.
A minor trade may be Novak and Head out for either a C or SG. I don't see anyone else the Rockets maybe trying to trade.
We have Tmac and Barry at the SG position so option 2 is not that strongly needed, we do however need a third scorer no matter what postion. Option 3 seems the best. It would be remarkable if we can get a third scorer but I doubt it will come via a minor trade. A minor trade sounds like trading of bench players or someone for cash and draft picks.
i think we might already have our third scorer in donte greene but just not this season or maybe even the next but if he keeps working hes gonna be great.
I agree! Though he did score 40 points, its only a summer league game and its his first game, lets hope he is consistent. If he does well he could come of the bench and play SF when Tmac or Battier take a rest.
