So, today was the day we were scheduled to race in the Minnesota Twins' mascot race at Target Field. We have had next to no rain up here for weeks. They delayed the game about 40 minutes because they thought some storms were rolling through. Never happened. We were two outs away from starting the race (after the 4th inning completed), when they went into another rain delay as it was now actually raining. It rained long enough, that for the first time all year, the mascot race was canceled due to the muddy conditions.
I'm sorry the rain delay prevented you from participating in the mascot race, but on the bright side, the rain delay prevented you from having to participate in a mascot race.
Yep. We were all dressed and waiting for the last 2 outs of the bottom of the 4th to be completed when a 40+ minute rain delay occurred. Not sure if they will reschedule. We were working with one of the Pohlads (owner's family), so we'll see.
I was the Loon, my wife the Mosquito, Some good friends were Babe the Blue Ox and the Walleye and my sister-in-law flew up from Texas to be the Target dog. I had my GoPro set up and ready to go and we had another camera with a really good zoom ready to video.
Got an email from the Twins organization today. They will hook us up at a game next season since all of the available slots are filled this year. Good job Pohlad family.
Are the mascot races fixed or can anyone win? How is your running ability? Do you know anything about the other mascots/runners? I would like to place some money using Betfair customized wagers on the outcome of this race if possible.
I'd bet on me. I know the other 4 runners. If there is enough money wagered on me, I'll discard the feet and run in my shoes as soon as we are out of the starting gate.
I'll probably be the Loon unless something changes. We'll also be sitting in the Champion's Club boxes. First row immediately to the first base side of the Pohlad's seats. Incidentally, I have season tickets in the Delta Sky Lounge, Section N, Row 2, seats 1 and 2 if you are ever interested in buying a couple of games.
