If we draft Ming we could duck-tape him and Cato together. A plus is that they would count as one person salary wise.

    ;)

Well as any Person in Spain will tell you, The coach of Gasol's team liked to rotate the Players and didnt let any of them stay on the floor the whole time.

I've read in several places that Ming is playing against CBA level talent. Those are increadible numbers for his age and competition.
I've seen clips from the Olympics, the guy can play. He has very strong lower body and he'll need to work on the upper body to play in the NBA, but after the torture drills he's been doing in the China, I don't think his work ethic will be a problem.

but I have a feeling the Knicks will get #1 overall.... and when they do we'll all know that the draft is fixed

If the Rockets win the lotto, they gotta take this guy. He would be a gamble, but the upside would be too much to not take a chance on. He could become the 2nd best center in the NBA in a hurry.

Will a center solve our problems? Will our guards give up a percentage of their stats, to bring the game inside? Will Ming be stuck (like Griffin) on the 3 point line, waiting for the slim chance of an outlet pass?

Maybe not, but he'll definitely mess things up on defense. The only reason I wouldn't take Ming is because players of his stature often are fragile and they have health problems. The team that drafts Ming should definitely do an extremely thorough physical before taking him. If there is no risk, then I think he'd work out pretty good.

Our defense and rebounding are a much bigger problem than our offense. If Ming panned out, he would help a lot.

I doubt Ming is even playing in a league as talented as the CBA. Probably not as athletic or big. I doubt he plays against many 7 footers. That being said, those #'s are astonishing even at the Y. Maybe he is a player??

I think I could post 40pts, 20 reb and 10 blocks if I played against a team of 10 year olds, even with my surgically reconstructed left foot, arthritis, and two damaged discs in my neck and back. It's all about competition level, and I don't know how much credit to give stats from the Chinese league. I hope he does well if the Rockets get him, but if the Knicks get him I wouldn't mind him turning out to be a bust.

    There are some easy comparisons.

    Vs Zhizhi Wang of Mavrick:
Three years younger, three inches taller, less mobility,
less agility, same competitiveness,Ming used to be the No. 2
in the nation beside Zhizhi two years ago, but now
Ming is good enough to challenge Zhizhi for #1 seat.

    Vs Bateers of Nuggets:
Much younger, much taller, much competitive, less
    muscle, ranked higher than Bateers.

    Vs Bradly of Mavrick:
Same size, much younger, more strength, more competitiveness,
    less talks, much much affordable.

You can get a rough image of him from these comparisons.
I would say, no matter how good/bad the China League is,
he is a NBA level player looking at his precedents in NBA.
My whisper only for Rockets, why draft Ming? Go for a trade for Zhizhi. Nuggets is tanking him after his career high 19 points in 21 mins in order to give Lafanze a time before playoff. I can say
that Zhizhi is much better than he is doing in Mav uniform. He
    got game.
