I thought Houston was *already* a good destination for lots of good players. (If you believe the media anyway)

I've seen stories that talk about how lots of NBA players come here over the offseason and workout at Westside. Supposedly thats becasue of the facilities and the people we have working here. Add to that the perception that RT is such a *player's coach*, and would you say we are already a desired destination for players?

I'm inclined to agree tho, who wouldn't want to come play with the next dominant center and all-star point guard?

We might attract good free agents, but there's always that nagging little detail called salary cap.

Don't forget the Rockets pay their players well, including the scrubs. Cato, Moochie, and Mo Taylor all got nice contracts.

Don't you think that if the Rockets fully utilize the marketing of Yao (especially in China) in two years and with a packed stadium every night, it'd be a shame if they didn't venture into luxury tax land when it warrants a good signing.

In all honesty, I think the Rockets management (actually, probably all management) are too cheap to do that. We might go a bit into the luxury but I don't think we'll really be taking out of it when we have couple big questionable contracts on our payroll. Also, correct me of I'm wrong, but you can't sign free agents to more than minimum contracts (even if you are under it, you probably can't dish out the contract the player wants) if you are over the cap, so never expect a Duncan size contract as somebody suggested.
