    4/13/09 Game Thread

    Phew.. long list of games.

Minnesota @ Dallas -- Well, this game matters for Dallas because it could mean for them to stay in 7th place in drop to 8th assuming that we beat them on Wednesday. Big game here, but I'm going for Dallas on this one because we don't want the Jazz to move from that 8th spot. Should be an easy win for the Mavs but they are on a back to back. (Not going to say Go Mavs)

Los Angeles (Clippers) @ Utah -- Any loss for the the Jazz is helpful to secure them at the 8th spot. I don't know how much of a shot the Clippers have of beating them, but any victory is taken against them. I mean Golden State beat them in their home court with 8 guys dressed, so maybe impossible is nothing. Who knows? Hopefully the Clippers do win though, or at least show some effort to win. Go Clippers!

Sacramento @ Denver -- Well, if somehow the god(s) could help us out here and help Sacramento win, we could possibly get that 2nd seed if we win out. Sacramento put up a fight against the Spurs last night and they were robbed with a potential victory. I hope they come out and play the same way on the road though it'll be tough and it's on a back to back. Go Kings!

Oklahoma City @ Portland -- Again, this would be a great thing for Rockets fans if we could somehow get some distance from Portland just incase we were to drop one of our two games. Basically this would be an "insurance" game for us but I don't know if OKC will even put up much of a fight for Portland IN Portland. Anyways... Go Thunder!

San Antonio @ Golden State -- The Spurs robbed the Kings last night as everyone knows and we also need some distance between them. Golden State beat Utah in Utah so I think they can beat San Antonio and they at home. Hopefully the Warriors will crush them with a "dagger" of their own just to piss them off. Go Warriors!

We need cheer the jazz to win this game so that there is a hope for that the hornets can fight hard in their last game against the spurs.

Our HCA is the most important thing!

Yeah, but I think we'll need some help. I don't like our chances vs Dallas. It's a must win for them, as they want to avoid facing LA in the 1st round.

    gonna be an interesting night

these look like easy wins on paper for our playoff counterparts. hope these "weaker" teams play spoiler and play with some pride, intensity and help us out

We just need to make sure we beat the Hornets

The Rockets are playing for the SW Division Title and possibly the 2nd seed... It is as much of a must win for us as it is for them.

The Rockets control their own fate. Win out, it's as simple as that. The only teams that can help us, imo, are the teams that are playing Denver.

As far as the Spurs-Warriors game, correct me if I'm wrong, but even if the Spurs win tonight, it really doesn't mean much as far as the division goes, right? If the Rockets win tonight, they will hold the tie-breaker due to the same division and conference records, but a better record against +.500 teams. And since both of our remaining games are against teams within our division, we basically need to win out anyways in order to win the division. As long as the Spurs don't lose to a division rival, it really makes no difference to them. I understand that if they were to lose tonight, we would have an overall better record than them, but in essence, since we would hold the tie-breaker, that's a one game cushion.

Dallas may be our opponent in the playoffs, so i don't agree saying they are going to win because its a must win for them, because it is the same way for the rockets i believe...

I don't see the rockets getting any help tonight. All of our playoff rivals are playing a bunch of cupcake teams. Maybe the clippers can pull off the upset over slumping Utah with the Deron injury, but I doubt it.

Nooo, if we win out, we win HC regardless.

Besides, the Jazz in 8th is the best possible outcome for us.

We still have one more game (mavs) left. If we cannot win that one, the spurs must lose their last game against the hornets. So, we can still get the HCA.

Of course, if we win both of the final two games, that is regardless.

BTW, I think our HCA >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Jazz in 8th! :)

Rockets win out, we secure at least the 3 seed. I am happy with that and that's what I root for.

Everyone else losing is just a bonus.
