Well so far this Collier for Przybilla and a 1st round pick next year trade looks pretty bad. Milwaukee is holding their own in the powerhouse East with a 3-8 record. Collier is outscoring and outrebounding Prz at 5.5 pts and 2.3 rebs a game. Hopefully Milwaukee will sneak into the #8 spot again and make this trade look really bad. And me, I'm just sitting here frustrated thinking of 'what might have been' with both Cato and Przybilla on the floor together. Damn Rudy, you suck. ------------------ "It's a great idea. Milwaukee's sucking some major ass so far. Too much. They need to win every once in awhile and wind up with the #11 pick in the draft. The way they're playing, we'll have to wait for that pick. I know they should get better as time goes on but, damn, so much for winning the weak East. Weak? The Bucks are anemic. ------------------
I can't imagine there are still Rockets fans who can't see that Collier is clearly more valuable than Pryzbilla(!?). Pryzbilla's play doesn't warrant serious minutes backing up Earvin Johnson: http://www.nba.com/bucks/stats.html Let's not over react to the Celtics loss. The whole Rockets TEAM played porous D and got no easy points on fastbreaks. Regarding the pick owed to the Rockets by the Bucks. Don't let the 3-8 fool you. Take out the lossses to Dallas, the Rockets, TWolves and Portland and the Bucks are 3-4 against the East. The Eastern losses have been to the Knicks, Pacers, Cavs and Raptors - not exactly "Patsies". It's way too early to write off the Top 10 protected pick! ------------------ GATER
Karl doesn't play rookies. Judgeing Pryzbilla by this season is pointless as he's an early entry candidate on a team with a coach who doesn't like rookies to begin with. He's a project. Collier is somewhat of a project too, but his upside is lower while his current play is better. Just depends on what you want. ------------------
Hobbs - George Karl's intentions are subject to debate. Karl's first pick as the Bucks coach was "Tractor" Traylor who played 16 minutes per game as a rookie (Traylor was the number 6 overall pick). With the Sonics, Karl used Earvin Johnson heavily in Johnson's second season. Karl has not had many Lottery picks, so I guess wasting a #9 on a PROJECT is understandable. (I guess my pro-Collier position is obvious). ------------------ GATER [This message has been edited by GATER (edited November 25, 2000).]
scarface - Payton started all 82 games as a rookie and averaged 27 mpg. Since Karl was NOT yet the coach of the Sonics, I guess your statement is true. http://www.nba.com/playerfile/gary_payton.html tp legend: if the Bucks FIRST pick in the 2001 Draft is ANYWHERE between the 11th pick and the 28th pick (not 29th b/c the TWolves don't get one), it is the Rockets free and clear and no questions asked. If is is 1 thru 10, the process repeats for the next 7 Drafts or or until the debt is paid. ------------------ GATER
I remember at the beginning of the year a lot of "basketball experts" in the media were picking the Bucks to be a contender in the East. Oh well... So much for that theory. I guess you have to play some defense from time to time if you want to contend for anything. ------------------
He sure as hell never played GP his rookie campaign. ------------------ "We need to fockass".....Dream back in the day
What, you wanted to see how pissed off we could get Francis when we had 2 blobs sitting in the middle, with no post moves, blocking Francis' path to the basket? Forget #14; #11 pick or bust. ------------------ The Serious Police are watching. Follow the rules or be assimilated. Shandon is underrated.
I hope we get a good pick from the bucks, but does anybody know if the pick is protected?? Do we still get the pick if it's a lottery pick? ------------------ www.truebballfansite.homestead.com

MManal - Thanks for the enlightenment. In the meantime, Big Dog Robinson caught a cold and missed 2 games including last nights loss to Washington. Ouch!! I looked at the Bucks schedule and IMO their next 10 games will be a big indicator a where they'll finish. Tough times for Bucks fans. They are playing Mark Pope behind Earvin Johnson (?). Pope was a Pacers second rounder in '96, played briefly in Turkey and will equal his total Pacers minutes sometime in the next 2 weeks with the Bucks. The Bucks have 3 established scorers and Tim Thomas - give a #9 pick some minutes, George. Apologies if I offended anyone. ------------------ GATER
When I first posted this I was thinking that the pick from the Bucks was lottery-protected. Thanks for reminding me that it's only top 10-protected. ------------------ "It's a great idea. I knew I was right. Bernie played him a lot, not Karl. I knew I should have looked that one up..... ------------------ "We need to fockass".....Dream back in the day
The Bucks are sucking and that is helping this trade big time... the strange thing is many had them top 3 in the East before Zo's injury, the Ewing trade and the youth movement of the Pacers. The East is just pathetic. Anyhow, trade is looking better, especially if we get a 10-15 pick out of the deal (lets face it: the early returns are so far that last year's draft class was awful) I still remember what I was thinking when they announced the Bucks picked Collier... "Thank goodness we're not that stupid." My question is what if the Bucks are 11th, 12th or 13th in the lottery .... do we get the pick and own a slim chance at a top 3 pick before the lottery, or do we only get the pick after the lottery if it's 11, 12 or 13? I'm guessing after the lottery. ------------------ NOTHING BUT .NET CLUTCHCITY.NET
If the Bucks continue to suck as much as they suck now then we probably wont be seeing our draft pick in the next draft. Are there more than nine teams that are worse than they have been so far? ------------------ I'ma need more than 6 and a half rebounds a game from the PF
Wouldn't this be a hilarious scenario: If we happened to be in the lottery, and got the #13 chance (ie #9 seed in West), while the Bucks had the #10 chance, if we managed to get a lucky lotto ball and win the thing, instead of ending up with just a #13 pick, we'd end up with the #1 and the Bucks' #11 pick. Wouldn't that be worth a kick? Clutch-I'd assume after the lotto balls. If Milwaukee has a lotto pick, we'd have to wait: It could work for us if they would be #10 and one of the #11, 12, 13 group was able to get in. I wonder how Minnesota figures into the lotto if they don't make the playoffs? 12 team lottery? 13th team is picked out of the 2 #8 seeds? ------------------ The Serious Police are watching. I'm pretty sure its post ping pong versus pre ping pong. ------------------ "We need to fockass".....Dream back in the day
