I was just watching the Jazz vs Warriors. This kid for the Jazz Milsap can play. We should try to get him if he is available. Anyone know what his status will be?

Unavailable. He's a rookie and is locked up two more years. Dream on.

So I figured out why Yao was so scared of Boozer. It's his face. That guy's a monster. Literally. :p

    Actually, Milsap was a 2nd rounder...so he is only under a 1-year contract...I think

When I watched the Rox Jazz series I kept telling myself to not think about we could draft him in the 2nd round. When the idea simply wouldn't go away, I told myself JVG wouldn't play a 2nd round rookie anyway...

Even if we had drafted this guy, there was no way a second rounder would get enough playing time to make a difference under JVG. I bet put Steve Novak (2nd rounder) on the Warriors/Jazz and you would be wishing for him to be on your team with all the wide open 3 pointers he'd make. The fact is our team has a history of not developing young talent so we usually rely on trades or over paying mediocre players because we are afraid to lose them.

I wanted Boozer when he was drafted in the 2nd round. And I wanted Millsap last year when he was still around in the 2nd round.

We couldnt afford to put Novak on the floor last year. We're already small with Hayes as our PF...Put Novak in and we would get abused on the boards against good teams like the Jazz.....Guys like Milsap would destroy him.

Our best chance to get him was last year in the draft. We picked twice in the second round, and he was still on the board both times.

it's possible we could land him.

the jazz have ALOT of moeny tied up in their front line. he might be a casualty of that.

i thought i heard here locally that he was unrestrcted at season's end. but a3po is probably right. i haven't looked anything up.

The Jazz's cap situation looks good and Milsap is signed for very cheap. http://www.hoopshype.com/salaries/utah.htm

I say this is borderline wrong forum, here's why:
    • Milsap has 3 years left on his contract with Utah.
    • Utah Probably won't trade him
    • This seems more of a comment about how good he is...

While I do agree he is a Rook with talent, this forum is not constructive, at all. It would be like me starting a forum 'Wouldn't it be great if we got Kobe Bryant to come to Houston and cured him of his raping habit?'. He is talented tho, I'll give you that.
