Davis Mills - From not to hot

So more than half the games from last year, Watsons stats don’t mean anything. Just garbage time stats that inflated his overall numbers. His only “elite” season was garbage time numbers.

 

yet many around the league, this forum and u included would say he is a great qb to build around if he wasn't an alleged criminal (not arrested/charged with anything pending). Jeez, i wonder y is it b/c he's dramatically way better than mills and has proven it in playoffs?

Like how come everytime anyone sht on mills, your defense is bringing other athletes into it. Like how does calling watson elite season just stat padding when he's actually good the same to Mills playing against third strings at the end of a game to stat pad.

This season is lost. You keep letting Mills play and try to see what you have. I say "try" because this O-line is trash. The running game is never established so the D knows they can tee off on Mills every play. He is not making nearly as many mistakes. He seems to do well in the hurry up. Maybe try running a hurry up offense some points during the 1-3 quarters. The play calling is trash. I am not saying Mills will ever be a great starter, but until some of these issues get resolved we will never know. Yeah Tyrod did great against Jacksonville, but it was Jacksonville's first game of the season too. If the Texans were even 3-4 then you start Tyrod, but they aren't.

 

Also people will see Green in 82 games this year. He has more chance to show improvement every other day. Mills has a 17 game season and can only show improvement once a week. Also, although they are both team sports Green can be great without other team mates. Mills has to rely on a terrible O-line, bad running game, and horrific play calling. There is absolutely no way to compare the two rookies.

Calling out yours and others hypocrisy is the issue. Why is it that you can’t admit Mills has all the physical traits it takes to be a new age QB? Why can’t you admit he’s shown flashes on a terrible team?

People forget how bad some of the greats were their first year. Off the top of my head, Payton Manning and Troy Aikman were hot garbage their first year. Mills is a rookie playing on a team that is awful. Give him some time.

Lol man you get triggered when somebody calls out Mills. Rookie Watson was 100 times better and all I remember is you criticizing every throw he made. Since you want to play the rookie card.

 

Rookie Watson? Nah bruh, didn’t criticize him at all. In fact you can go to the draft thread for him and see how excited I was. He was a rookie, I gave him benefit of the doubt. I didn’t criticize Watson until 3rd season regression and making same mistakes.

 

If Texan fan wants Mills to be successful they shouldn't want to see him crucified every Sunday. He will be turned into David Carr 2.0 before you know it. He's nowhere near ready for the NFL. Let him sit back and analyze and give him another shot during training camp next year. What's the rush? This years college QB crop is abysmal. You would be compounding the errors by destroying Mills only to rush into another Mills, only this time wasting precious 1st round capital doing it.

 

Like I said early (I also said draft more qbs but didn't know the upcoming was bad). Let mills sit and learn from the bench to learn and let tyrod take over. Then during the next offseason if mills win the starting role then so b it.
