    (on Yao Ming's play) “He is a great player. He told me his foot is bothering him. It's kind of the coach to figure out his minutes and how to play him to get the most out of him. They really need him as their main number one option.”

    This was in another thread, but I don't want to derail that thread's topic.

    If this is true, well I guess I won't be too hard to sneak down and get better seats.

    Here is my theory.

    Before free throw, Darko and Yao made a little chat.

    D: Good to see you back again. How's your foot doing? 100% now?
    Y: Nah, still bothering me from time to time.
    D: I heard about your 24 mins cap
    Y: Yeah, coach will figure out how to get the most from me. Now, we have a game to play, and I will whoop your ...

    Darko in interview, "Yao told me his foot is bothering him". He did tell the truth. But I won't take it too seriously.

    On the other hand, if Yao doesn't feel a thing about the foot, he's 100% already. But he's not, yet.

    You guys are making jokes about this but be careful, if his foot is bothering him then the limit will continue or may eventually shut him down for a few a games at a time.

    Ilgauskas said he had tightness in the foot/discomfort initially while playing on it after the same type of surgery.

    7-6 Center.

    Multiple leg injuries in the past.

    Missed an entire season because of foot injury.

    Not any injury. Potential career threatening injury.

    Underwent complex foot surgery. Long rehab.

    Not going to play back2back games.

    Going to be limited to 24 minutes per game.

    Left foot is "completely remanufactured".

    Still 7-6 Center.

    And you guys expect his foot to be perfect and not bother him?!!

    Get a reality check.

    why is it surprising?

    Yao's foot is the main reason for his 24 min limit, which bothers everyone including Yao. So of course, his foot is bothering him.

    Really like your "reporting". However, logically, you are 100% right. Yao does not have a great personal relationship with Darko. It just does not make sense to me that Yao would tell him but not others.
