MW is an enigma. MW is a pass first 1 who plays good D, yet he sat at the end of JVG's bench. Bringing in Mark Jackson mid-season was yet another no confidence vote. Next year, MW should look for work elsewhere. I suspect CD will let JVG pick his backup 1 next year from the available FAs.
if the origional poster is mike wilks, then i want to clarify my origional reply. i love the work ethic, and the style of play. the problem is we never keep our 3rd string PG's: sean colson - cat and steves close friend...that couldnt save him. tierre brown - fan favorite, skills that can rival any ball handler...didn't keep him mike wilks - i think we were all rooting for him all year but its just a trend here.
I like what Wilks brought to the table but he is not backup PG material (at least not in the NBA) .. hes too small and cant shoot. I like his defense and work ethic, if he was a lil taller I would consider him a lil more but not right now. I have a feeling JVG will try to bring in CWard or some other JVG type backup PG. Someone good enough to spell the starter some minutes but not good enough to be a starter somewhere else. J
The reason we don't keep the third string guys is not because of their talent level but rather that we overpaid the 2d string point guards. And they eventually depart as soon as we find someone willing to take their contract. Moochie Brent Price Bryce Drew Maloney got cut Wilks has a shot to make the team assuming they don't resign MJ for $30 mil.
We might as well keep him for 3rd string PG. I'm sure he would come extremely cheap, it can't hurt having another backup PG, as long as his name isn't Moochie.
I hear him saying "would you like fries with that". Little harsh, but my guess is he is out of the league, praying for a 10 day contract or two.
