Ladies and Gentlemen....you may think this is crazy but i think Mike Wilks will have a great career w/ the rockets...the way he speeds down the court is amazing. he may not be the most pure shooter on the court, but hey, what pg's r great shooters? He is everything you would want in a pg. great ft shooter, great driver, desent fg shooter, is smart.

This is what i think could be the potential line up next season if francis goes "bye-bye"

pg- Mike Wilkes or Jalen Rose
    sg-Cat
sf- Jimmy Jackson and Boki Nachbar split time
pf-Donyell or FA (possibly drew gooden)
    c- yao

the trade that makes steve go bye-bye would be......sending steve and Mo Taylor to toronto for first round pick, Jalen Rose, and Donyell

Players that small need to use their quickness and be pinpoint precision passers to be effective like Earl Boykins and get big minutes. He hasn't really gotten enough playing time to show if he can do that. I feel bad for the guy because I really like him alot, and believe in him in a Boki kind of way, but even with Mark Jackson likely being gone within a couple years, I just don't see him catching on the rotation. He'd need to really show improvements in shooting and do the things above.

Hardeji, I have to assume you are Mike Wilkes mother. Anybody who has seen him play knows that is out of the question. I would not be surprised if Wilkes never plays another NBA game in his life.

I like Wilks. I hope he turns into the next John Stockton. But from what I have seen of him on hte court, he jsut dosen't ahve major league talent. Clearly undersized. Not a particularly good shooter. What do you see as his steangths? I mean besides his Developmental League adds?

Again, don't get me wrong. I have nothing against him. I just can't immagine another team offering us something of value for him. He has mid season 10 day contract fill in written all over him if the Rox cut him. I have to expect another team would sign Damon Jone or Anthony Goldwire before Wilkes.

This is the silliest thing i have ever heard. If wilkes does start, we'll have gone from a 3 time NBA all star at our starting point guard, to a cba reject...

Wilks is such a stand up guy it's really easy to root for him. That said, he's a horrible finisher, a horrible shooter, and way too small to be a post feeder. He's a good ball handler and can get up and down the floor quickly, but that doesn't make you a starter in the this league.
