I know that there is about a 2.1% chance that this effects our team but what are your thoughts on Vicks possible return to the NFL this coming season. The demand will be there and I would be surpised if Goodell didn't let him play since he paid his debt. Don't get me wrong I think what he did is dispicable but the fact is he did pay his debt. Anyway my question is what happens to him??? I am predicting a backup role in Big D...mostly because JJ is a total publicity w****.

I would quit rooting for the Titans if they even gave this guy a tryout. If the Raiders didn't have Russell, then I would think they would be a match made in heaven.

What if he signs with the Browns?

I think the ideal place for Vick to come back to would be as a running back in a Miami style offense where he could run with the ball, take pitchouts, and then set up some plays where he can use his passing ability secondary to his passing.

The next revolution in the NFL is what has just started in Miami, using running backs and quarterbacks more interchangeably. Vick makes perfect sense to me in that role. It would be a lower pressure situation, give him a chance to get on the field and do something positive and rebuild his career, and whoever gets him gets a chance to exploit his great physical tools, which is his elusiveness/running ability and his arm strength on occasion. I would love to see the Texans make a move on him for a role like this if Kubiak was open-minded enough to implement his skill set into the offense. I would think Kubiak would understand the benefits too since he spent so many years watching Elway scramble around and turn 10 yard losses into 60 yard touchdowns.

I will bet big money he ends up in Dallas. Jerry Jones loves guys with troubled pasts and after another disappointing year in the coming season Romo is gonna be under serious scrutiny. I say they sign vick in 2010 offseason, and midway through 2010 when the cowgirls are 3-3 Vick steps in as the starter.

He has yet to be suspended by the NFL for all of this. He probably will have to sit out a year after he gets out of jail before Goodell reinstates him.

And I don't see how a 32+ year old scrambler with shotty throwing decision making and less than good accuracy would be enticing for a team.

I think Schaub will be just fine and I hope that Vick never wears a Texans uniform.

I agree. (I don't want to see him on the Texans, though.)

do you guys think vick deserves to be suspended by the NFL again after he gets out of prison?

i personally think that him serving time in prison, and obviously being off the football field, should be enough. prison is punishment enough IMO. hopefully goodell let's him back in this year, cuz i'd like to see what he has left. another year's wait and he'll be that much less athletic and unproductive.

I think Vick has already served enough punishment. Doesn't the NFL already have players with drug trafficking and murder charges?

Let's be honest here he is not gonna hurt ticket sales. Yes women are mad he tortured dogs, but do you really give a crap if he bet on dog fights if you're a san francisco 49er fan and you've got shaun hill at quarterback? Most men probably would not give two hoots and ticket sales will not be affected if he comes back, yes whatever team signs him may have a couple protesters, but hey no publicity is bad publicity. For the record Im a niner fan and shaun hill sucks a fat one.

I am mad he tortured dogs and would give a crap, and am a man. just saying. your analysis may accurately stereotype most male NFL fans, but not all.

I don't know or care what he "deserves", I will not be a fan of any team he is on.

Betting is one thing, breeding, training, torturing, then brutally killing is another. I would ban him from the NFL permanently.

dude went to jail and lost everything. its kind of a 'what else do you want him to do' situation. He apologized, went to jail, and did everything he was asked to do. He deserves another shot.

I could not care less about dogs so take my
opinon with a grain of salt dog people.

Let him play, He did not kill anyone. Should
someone that works in a slaughter house not
be allowed in the NFL? Of course not, let him play.

Not long ago(relatively) we were doing this with actual people, and it would
be completely ridiculous to get someone in serious trouble for killing dogs...

At life. He deserves to go live his life and do it out of the public eye if he so chooses. I'm saying I would not allow him back into the NFL. It is an extreme privledge to be in the NFL. It isn't my choice though. That decision lies upon the owners & the commisioner.

I can understand some people thinking he should be given another chance, but I find it disturbing that you think that way.

Slaughter houses aren't illegal, don't involve that level of torture, and we actually eat the animals.

I don't like dogs in the least.

But it's not about your opinion of the merits of the law. The fact is, he broke the law. Period.

That said, I am still of the opinion that he has paid his debt to society. Employers have a right to screen who they hire. Were I an employer and he came knocking, I would give him every opportunity anyone else has, based on what my company's needs are, what his character appears to be, etc.

That, btw, is why I don't want to see him in Houston--we don't need him from a personnel standpoint.
