I don't know if anyone else was watching, but Mike Tyson had a litte incident, I guess you could call it, at K-1, a tournament PPV thing similar to UFC and Pride mixed with boxing. I was only watching to see Bob Sapp, a huge dude that's like 6'4 and like 356lbs of muscle. He fought this one guy and knocked him out, but after the match he called out Mike Tyson who was in the crowd. (BTW, he was dressed pretty nicely for a broke guy, not to mention he was had good seats at an PPV event.) Mike came in and Sapp kind of charged after him, trying to hit him through like 10 people in the ring. They both talked trash and talked about fighting. Mike of course said "sign the contract," so I'm sure this is just a stunt for money. And then things settled down a bit and Sapp said he'd fight with any rules, K-1, boxing, or some other thing. (I think he said MAA.) Not exactly Kobe Bryant news, but I figured anything involving Mike Tyson is a story. I don't know. Maybe only I am still curious by the guy fighting a mini-hulk. K-1 is pretty cool, for those interested. I saw one dude get knocked down and the ref was going to give him 1 second to prove he could fight and in that 1 second, the other guy smacked him and knocked him out again. edit: Here's a pic of Sapp for those who don't know him. That's probably the best pic I can find.
That Guy is FREAKIN HUGE if i had to get in the ring with him i would just repeatly kick him in the sack
Yeah, I saw that. Like I said, most of the reason I was watching it was to see him fight. He's a freak of nature. His only problem is that he seems to be too big or something. In the fight, he got hit pretty hard and could barely hold himself up. May need to work on his legs some, though they're pretty big too. Almost lost too, because the doctor was looking at him for a while, getting a timeout. Bob said he used his spirit to never die and stuff like that to come back. He spoke some Japanese words too.
He's lost once. I heard an interview with him on the Dan Patrick Comedy show on ESPN radio. He said he is big as pokemon in Japan. He said that he is 2nd behind Matsui, and ahead of Ichiro in popularity in Japan. I always thought that Kareoke was more popular than Ichiro in Japan.
He's lost more than once, at least in K-1. I think his record is 7-3 with 4 KO's after tonight. Plus, in the fight I saw of him in Pride, he lost. I just like him because he just tries to take the head off the guy he's fighting. Or is he's fighting with Pride rules, he powerbombs people. Hmm...maybe I just should have made a thread JUST about Sapp?
ha, kinda reminds me of Mike Tyson and his little appearence he did with the then WWF with Degeneration X and Stone Cold.
tyson is a moron and that guy is a huge beast but if they actually fought mike would just be too quick.
If they boxed, probably. But if the rules were something else, like say K-1 or Pride or whatever, Sapp could do well. Sapp knows how to use his knee, as wells as kicks to hurt his opponents. Throw in the ability to due just about anything to get your opponent to tap out or get knocked out, then Sapp could powerbomb him or use some of those arm bar things that hurt. (though I don't know if he is actually familar with those type of skills.)
true, but the only fight i could see tyson agreeing to is a boxing match where it's somewhat controlled. too bad though because how sweet would it be to see him powerbombed in like a UFC match?
All tyson would have to learn is how to do is sprawl to avoid getting taken down and he would murder this guy. People just don't understand how much power a guy like Tyson has. If Tyson got a clean hit, the guy would be out cold.
I don't think it would be that easy to avoid being taken down. I don't even think veterans can fully avoid getting taken down. And I do agree that Tyson could knock him out in one punch, but Sapp could probably do the same thing. And I'm just talking about boxing. In another type of match, who knows.
I'm thinking Tyson has been in more than his fair share of "No rules" fights over his lifespan, so even if it weren't boxing rules, he would prevail. Hell, the guy bit the ear off of someone in a BOXING match. If they told him there were even fewer limitations, who knows what he would resort to.
