RT @MaioccoCSN Singletary fired when 49ers returned to facility, Jed York just told me. Jim Tomsula takes over as interim.
Something serious must have went down if you don't even let him finish the last game. I want Kubiak fired too, but to do it now would be pointless.
About time that clueless doofus got the boot. <object width="640" height="390"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/MifDJAO44G4&hl=en_US&feature=player_embedded&version=3"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/MifDJAO44G4&hl=en_US&feature=player_embedded&version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="390"></embed></object>
IMHO, Singletary is the defensive version of Kubiak. They are really good coordinators but just aren't made to be head coaches.
"Cannot play with them. Cannot win with them. Cannot coach with them. Can’t do it. I want winners. I want people that want to win."

Singletary has never even been a DC. Kubiak at least has a track record on O... Singletary has no resume for building great D as a coach.
True but he just strikes me as a "D" coordinator not a head coach. Also, you could make an argument Kubes was never the TRUE offensive coordinator in Denver, Mike Shanahan was.
Nobody will ever forget the particular press conference last year. I thought he was a dead coach walking afterwards and was amazed he lasted this long.
For all of Kubiak's faults, you can't say with a straight face that he can't put an offense together... whether you want to give him OC credit or not... he has the track record... Singletary has nothing but a name.
Easy to say that with shaub and AJ (best receiver in the LG) on your team. Singletary just need a competent QB ....alex/troy smith are not starting qb much less suitable backups.
Lombardi style of coaching just doesnt work as well in today's professional football for head coaching. Players and especially QBs are more guided by the Bill Belichick / Tony Dungy type coaches, technicians and more cerebral in their approach. Singletary probably believes he applies the same type accountability to everyone and will get the same results. But DURING A GAME, a QB is more an intense chess player than a mauler. As much as you want to do it, DURING A GAMe, you can't threaten smarts into a QB. To correct a QB into making a proper check down read to the 3rd receiver option, you have to show it to him how he missed it and discuss with him how to do it next time. Yes toughness, intensity and Take-No-S**T are traits that will never go away in football. But you need some substance to it besides only "In your face-ALL the time".
