I would just like to say that I am a long time visiter but first time poster. I am from Htown but now live in Austin but I still follow the Rockets daily.I was just wondering what were the possibilities of the Rockets prying away mike miller from orlando maybe being involved in a three-way with Sac? I know that alot of other things would have to be involved(Players mainly) because of the salary cap but I think that he would be an ideal 3 for the Rockets. Also maybe we could pry away Bo Outlaw along with Miller but I am not sure if he is A Free Agent or not. ------------------
Rudy and co. were very high on Miller b/f last years draft. I thnk he will be a good SF in this league. ------------------ "Chucky who? I thought we were talking about basketball?" Charles Barkley
It would be nice to be able to get Miller. I'd rather if we traded them picks to just give them one, but I don't see how that will happen. Maybe we could give them #13 + Walt/KT...but I doubt that would be enough. I'm sure Rivers is asking a lot for him, or trying to package him to move up into the lottery. ------------------ Now saw off...there's nothing to see here.
I'm smelling Miller coming to the Rockets when Webber goes to the Kings in some kind of 3-way arrangement. Just a hunch! ------------------ "How far you go in life depends on you being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak. Rich, I'm gonna say your hunch is wrong! If Webber goes to the Kings, there won't be a 3-way! That's just a guess. ------------------ "I had mine chewed off by a boss one time." -- Behad leaves us wondering if he gets hazard pay...
A three way would work as long as we end up with #13, #18, #23. ------------------ "Chucky who? I thought we were talking about basketball?" Charles Barkley
I hope we get Miller than we can pass on the guy from Notre Dame and the guy from Villanova. Lest I be accused of anything politically incorrect, we can than choose the guy from Yugolavia. Sorry after so much wine I can't remember the names at my advanced age. PS Don't blast me for chancing a reply without having hundreds of posts as many of the initiated are want to do. ------------------
As long as we don't give up Cat or Franchise, trade away for Miller at all costs. Steve Cat Mike Miller Sounds good to me! ------------------ President of the (the Rockets first pick in the draft) fan club.
Getting the ROY will take more than one pick and a couple of bench players. Yes, KT could start on some teams, but Walt is pretty much a backup SF on most teams. They might take 13, 18 and KT, but they might even want the Mooch... ------------------ Our purpose in life is to find our gift, and the meaning of life is to give it away!
R-U-S: 3 first round picks plus Moochie for the most recent ROY in a WEAK DRAFT CLASS. I'd like to do some trading with you. What are you looking for? ------------------ "How far you go in life depends on you being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak. How about that guy from the USA? i hear he's a terrific player! Damn! can't seem to remember his name, but i'm sure ya'll know who I'm talkin' about ------------------ Dream Rejects Every Attempt Made
Can anyone who watched Orlando this year tell me about Millers defense? I know he has game offensively, but I can't recall watching Orlando play this year, or more specifically watching Miller play D. Thanks!

I like Mike Miller just fine, but the hype machine makes this kid sound better then he is. In my estimation, he is a younger Walt Williams. He drains the trey at 40%. Beyond that, he does not bring much to the table. He doesn't get steals, blocks shots, or get assists. His rebounding is far below what it should be. He is a testament to the weakness of last year's draft. If he is on the market it is because his value is higher now than it will be after riding the pine a year behind TMac and Hill. *) ------------------ [This message has been edited by PinetreeFM60 (edited June 19, 2001).]
Admittedly, I haven't seen a whole lot of Magic games this past season, but from the limited play I saw of him and from what I've heard and read, he is a complete player. His dribbling and passing skills are developed enough to almost warrant him to play Point-forward with some more NBA experience. Asides for his pin-point accuracy from outside, this Rookie of the Year winner has the athleticism to slash to the hole with efficiency. I'm not sure if I heard correctly, but didn't Magic GM John Gabriel state about a week ago that he would be willing to trade Miller for a lottery pick, in the hopes of drafting a big man? Now, even if those comments were in fact made, Orlando could well be looking for something higher than the 13th pick, as I don't think they would sacrifice a Miller for a Woods or Haywood. If we could somehow acquire this former Florida Gator, I would be all over it. Maybe ship Cato, #13 and #23 for Miller and Outlaw? Does that work cap-wise. But with TMac and Hill on the roster, it would be difficult for Miller to reach his potential in central florida. He is undoubtedly NBA starter material. One thing is for sure; in the past few years ROY's have gone on to become very good, if not reach superstar status. '00 - Francis/Brand '99 - Carter '98 - Duncan '97 - Iverson '96 - Stoudamire '95 - Kidd/Hill I'm sure - and I hope - Rudy T is working the phones as we speak, er type, to get Mike Miller in a Rocket uni this season.
