I love this take. Just because he was able to improve on the Silas years - which isn't hard to do because it's quite obvious Silas isn't an NBA caliber coach. Doesn't mean Ime is going to lead this team to the promised land. Ime improving the team (which is indisputable) and Ime not being good enough to win a championship are things which can both be true at the same time. It's such a pathetic comeback in all honestly when people discuss Ime. It's quite obvious he has severe short comings as a coach. One of the glaring issues being his in game adjustments. Which wouldn't be that bad..... if it wasn't for the fact that in game adjustments are what make or break a playoff series when it's only good teams duking it out, and not garbage teams you can beat up on to inflate your offensive numbers. You think a Mike Malone Nuggets team would see a player light it up for 20 in the half, and then in the second half not let him get a shot in 8 minutes? LMFAO
lol you think he’s just “improved” from the Silas years? I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again - the dumbest fans are the ones who call for a team to fire a success coach. Across all sports, such stupid moves rarely, if ever, work out. The vast majority of the time, it blows up in the team’s face.
No. I would much rather have Luke Walton as an Assistant. Someone who knows how to run a perimeter game. He's played for Phil and coached under Kerr! We have two guys we drafted that are amazing 3pt shooters. Let them rain 3's! We have an inside game only and we need an outside game!
Would love to bring Malone in as a technical consultant or temporary assistant (with an out clause for HC gig). Not just based on this game but offensive rebounding is not a serious and complete offensive strategy. Our initial offense is iso-heavy. It's the least amount of offensive coaching any coach is doing. It's not acceptable that Denver held practically every starter to a bad shooting night. That was not an elite defensive unit they started (no Gordon) . Meanwhile we didn't slow down Jokic or Murray even 1%. I don't have an issue with a coach that has a weakness but a coach who can't even acknowledge their weakness can waste an entire successful regular season with 1 dumb idea in the playoffs. Someone has to confront Ime about it. Has been the case for a while.
What an overreaction. We are missing our point guard. A lot of our players are adjusting to a role they aren’t too familiar with. This is Ime’s first year coaching the rockets with championship expectations. we were 2nd in the stacked west last year, have a good record this year. Sengun and KD had an off night and we lost by 2 to another championship contender. Give Ime a couple of playoff failures and then we can talk
This thread belongs in the knee-jerk reaction graveyard and deserves a supersized tombstone. People, you have to be mature enough not to flip out and go crazy over losing game 14. We got some real crazies in here.
We should shake up the entire team after every loss. I mean, once we get the right fit, we should never lose again.
