Okay, we all know Mike James is on a salary drive. What is he gonna get? And who is going to give it to him?

i read a quote somewhere, sorry i dont have a link or anything, that james said, "the money dont motivate me at all." I couldnt stop laughing

I heard he might end up in NY, but who knows....where ever he goes, he's gonna wanna get paid, paid and paid....i'm thinking four year deal max though, because he is 30 and maybe around 6 mill a year

7 million is what Gilbert Arenas got when he wasn't even what he is today. If Jason Terry is resigned, there are no other major PGs in FA that are around MJ's production.

He is pretty old in a longterm contract sense, but with the right agent, he could get 7-8 million just from the shortage in the FA pool.

He'll get around 6 million per year for 5 years. That is about what he is worth IMO.

I voted for MAX.. He deserves it.
Then group him with Starbury and Franchise in NY.

I voted for the max: I started by dividing Alston's salary by its productivity and effort, and then multiplying that result by James' productivity and effort.

The result was 10 zillion gajillion katillion, which I rounded down.

i think he's going to pull about 8-9 mil just because toronto would be willing to pay that much.

Toronto pretty much has no choice but to resign him. If James goes, then Bosh will probably get out as well. Bosh has already made it clear that he likes James and wants him on this team.

Toronto is terrible but they're young and have a nice core with Bosh, Villanueva, and James. They just need a new coach and some veteran leadership.

For his age and worth, I'd put James' value at 4 years $30-$32 million. That would be a fair deal for both sides IMO. The contract wouldn't be too long, and pays James enough to go to Jamaica on a whim. ;)

MLE. You can let James run amok on a lottery loser team, but he wouldn't last as a starter on a quality team without severely altering his game and GM's know that.

If you think that guy is worth the max you are crazy.

If you think he will get the max you are somewhat crazy.

If you think some nba gm will overpay for him you are probally right.
