    Did anyone see this crap?

James hasn't played a minute and the trade is already being heralded as the best move of GM Rob Babcock's tenure in Toronto.

The Raptors were able to dump Alston's huge contract _ five years, $22.6-million US remaining _ and rid themselves of a huge locker-room headache.

In return, they've got the polar opposite to the volatile Alston. Well-liked wherever he's played for his style and his attitude, James _ two years, $7.1-million remaining _ quickly won over the Toronto media at training camp Wednesday with his friendly demeanour.

Robert Pack is still in the league?!?!

A third-string job could go to either 13-year NBA veteran Robert Pack, Tierre Brown, who's bounced around the league the past four seasons, or NBA rookie Corey Williams, who like Alston, garnered a reputation for his streetball skills at New York's famous Rucker Park.

They are really making Alston to be this conniving loser who just wanted to stir the pot. JVG will straighten his ass out if he's out of line.

Have you SEEN the other moves that Babcock has made? Getting anything for Rafer Alston looks pretty good after the ESPN crew stuttered and stammered trying to justify you picking Charlie Villuenueva when you already have Chris Bosh.

I don’t think he’s going to be needing all that much straighten out, I think his actions last year had a lot more to do with his situation more than anything.

Much better situation = no attitude problems

I hope Mike James kicks serious ass for them this year...

and then leaves them with nothing to sign to the highest bidder which is what he had already stated he would do here.

Congrats Babs! Ya' got cap room!

Good luck to MJ, hope he plays well in Toronto.

As far as it being the best move by Babcock so far, I couldn't agree more. This guy has just made bad move after bad move. He went from having a decent trio in Carter/Rose/Bosh, and now they have crap.

Just like the tmac/francis trade. Time will tell who got the better end of this deal. Right now, we can only speculate.

If you had told me 10 years ago that Harold Miner would be long gone from the league and Robert Freaking Pack would still be around I would have asked you how many shots of whiskey you had before talking to me

There's a completely different level to these trades. One was for two superstars/All-Stars. The other was for a starting PG and a backup PG.

Well, it is the Raptors website. What are they supposed to say?

I don't think anyone "wins" this trade. Both teams got what they wanted.

Heck, if you had told people that Harold Miner would be long gone from the league and Robert Freaking Horry would still be in the league, they'd have had the same reaction. :D
