Stalker alert: There's a huge house being built on Westheimer near Gessner, just across the street from Yao's restaurant. A buddy of mine told me his barber told him (so it must be true) it's the new home of Mike James. You can see it easily from the Westheimer, but I'm guessing there will be a huge wall built before too long.
mike who? why the hell is he building a house down here??? he only plays for the Timberwolves the last time i checked..
francis lives here and he plays for knicks. whats your point? rudy T lives here and he works for the lakers. etc...
Exactly. A LOT of athletes live in the Houston area. Also an FYI: Dallas Mavericks head coach Avery Johnson lives in The Woodlands.
Hmm that means if all these NBA players wanna live in Houston, then that means Houston must have something going for it right?
Did not know anything about Mike James but those two streets are East and West Rivercrest, they are huge lots with large (in some cases 10,000+ sf) houses. I used to live on East Rivercrest and Robert Horry lived a few houses down (still does) The street(s) start at Westeimer and go straigt to Briar Forest then each go a little further and curve into each other. It's Piney Point/River Oaks living at a cheaper price (out near the Beltway)
well... Mike James was practically invisible towards the end of the regular season so that could be a contributing factor.
Check out the property taxes on Horry's house. His house is appraised at $2,909,000 and he paid $66,663.36 in property taxes last year!!! http://www.hctax.net/propertytax/current/2006statement.asp?Account=0720820020031
What's so great about that? It's really not that impressive considering how much money he's made in his entire career. My uncle has over 9 million dollars worth of property here in Houston, including a house right near Mike James' new one (Rivercrest) for over 4 mm, and has to pay over 270,000 in taxes each year. Hard work does pay off. It's comforting knowing you can live a superstar's lavish life without having to be athletically gifted.
