One is opting out and wanting a big payday, thus needing to pad stats. The other is on final year of contract. Which one is more valuable an asset to the Rox?
Then don't. Seriously, I am not sure. But he publicly said that he is looking for big contract after this one expires. Rockets won't have much cap to work with for the following two seasons. Plus, it seems that he is playing like AI right now and I don't think that fit into Rockets' style. Also, Raptors lost this game again. I would take a closer look at a player's performance if his stats comes from playing on a bad team. Remember a lot of people doubt Tmac when he first came to Rockets? Of course Tmac proved them wrong, but it still tells you how people look at a player coming from a bad team: you have to prove you can play well in a winning team.
If anything, MJ should send a "thank you" postcard to CD and JVG, because he wouldn't have been able to showcase himself like that here -- he needed a crappy team that would give him a green light to do whatever he wanted. I wish him the best, no animosity should be held by either side, and he will be better for it (financially speaking). Time to move on, stop looking at the Raptors score-sheet after every game to find a way to critique the trade while not giving Rafer the chance to gel and get his feet wet with this team. Patience is a virtue, although it might not be one some on this board believe in.
Rafer putting up 7. points 4.3 assists and 4 boards a game. shoots at 33% from 2 point. 30.4 from the 3 point line. 15 points 3 assists 3 boards a game. james shoots at a 48.7 % from the 2 point line. 46.4 from 3 point line.
Some of you people read waaaay too much into stats. Mike James publicly announced several months ago, that he was going to opt out of his contract after this season because he wanted a bigger one. We managed to get a decent player in return instead of just letting him walk. He's a shooting guard in a point guard's body. It may not seem like it now, but Rafer Alston's game is better suited for our team. Give the man some time. BUT, bottom line is: The trade is done. Get over it. What the hell is the use of whining about it?
I Still believe alston is the better player. james is in a team where he can take as many shots as possible. there not good, when they lose, there fans will say, so be it. Alston is under alot of pressure here. he will adjust.
What evidence do you have to back that up? Sure, people here have been speculating on that infamous "wave-off" MJ gave T-Mac in the playoffs last season, but what evidence is there to this rumor? I am not sure if you're an insider or someone else is, but if they can chime in on this it would be nice.
Is this "posting Mike James stat line every night" trend gonna last through the entire season. I'm sick of it already.
wow! that's good for them... i guess. Mike James is a good scorer and i liked him when he was in Houston, good for him too.
This is why i would take RA over MJ: at the end of the game who would you rather have shooting? Tmac, Yao or Mike James? Raefer will get the ball into their hands; MJ would take matters into his own hands. This team needs a pass first shoot second type of point guard. RA fits that better than MJ does.
