Rockets are looking to aquire Mike Bibby and Sacramento is looking to trade Mike Bibby. Don't know if its true but my bosses client told us. He said he is close to the Rockets organization. He said the Kings are looking to trade some of their big contracts and Rockets have shown interest in Mike Bibby. I am not sure how credible this guy is so do not flame me. If you guys feel like locking this thread then go ahead.

I really think this could be done. Sacramento is struggling so this might be true.

if it is then i say go for it. we terribly need a point guard right now that can actually dish the ball..

here's what i tried with realgm coz im that bored..

    Houston Trade Breakdown
    Outgoing
    David Wesley
    6-1 SG from Baylor
    9.1 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 3.3 apg in 33.9 minutes
    Moochie Norris
    6-1 PG from West Florida
    2.7 ppg, 1.8 rpg, 1.3 apg in 10.9 minutes
    Incoming
    Mike Bibby
    6-1 PG from Arizona
    19.9 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 5.2 apg in 37.5 minutes
Change in team outlook: +8.1 ppg, -1.7 rpg, and +0.6 apg.

    Sacramento Trade Breakdown
    Outgoing
    Mike Bibby
    6-1 PG from Arizona
    19.9 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 5.2 apg in 37.5 minutes
    Incoming
    David Wesley
    6-1 SG from Baylor
    9.1 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 3.3 apg in 33.9 minutes
    Moochie Norris
    6-1 PG from West Florida
    2.7 ppg, 1.8 rpg, 1.3 apg in 10.9 minutes
Change in team outlook: -8.1 ppg, +1.7 rpg, and -0.6 apg.

    Successful Scenario
Due to Houston and Sacramento being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Houston and Sacramento had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out unless trade exceptions were used for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement

since wesley and mooch are on the last year of their salary, sacramento will have a huge cap space relief after this season but i highly doubt they will do it. and if they did, we will have one of the west's best shooting and passing point guards. oh what a pipe dream this trade of mine is gonna be. lol. :D

I don't see Sactown trading Bibby for contracts only. Would you all throw in Head if we also got Garcia in the mix?

If they get a chance to add Mike bibby to Yao/Tmac combo, they should do it. They need his shooting and passing. It will make Yao and Tmac's life much easier with a reliable 3rd scorer and defenses not concetrating on them. At the same time, Tmac and yao will give Bibby lot more shooting room.

And the bonus? He is clutch. The man single-handedly almost brought down Lakers in Game 7, when none of his teammates could throw the ball into the milky way. Had it not been for Dick Bavetta's divine intervention, Kobe and Shaq would have had 1 less ring.

is this speculation? where's doc rocket?
I guess the reason why they would do this is get our expiring contracts and maybe pull a Reggie Bush move.

We should have pulled the Juwan for Sam Cassell (rumored deal before the season) cause Sam is better and more loved here. But I'll take Bibby cause our #1 problem is PG. Maybe we can get rid of SkipToMyLou also cause I dont think he fits well in JVG system cause he cant hit outside jumpers consistently.

No offense (no pun intended :p), but then we might as well get rid of the whole team then no? Even T-Mac is inconsistent from outside this season. Thing is, against Golden State, Alston hit a big three near the end, T-Mac didn't. It's this team's inability to score for stretches that is costing them games (among other things). Simply: you can't score, you can't win.

There hasn't been one consistent shooter from the perimeter. You can make arguments for Head (beyond 3, which is now beginning to regulate to a lower %) and maybe Wesley now.

I dunno. I don't like Bibby's contract, which has 3 years left. That would take all the money, and we wouldn't have anything left to trade for a 4. Bibby is a solid pg, he would help our stars, but he's not all that and a bag of chips. He's no great shakes on defense. I think I'd rather do a small deal, like trade Alston for Antonio Daniels, who is lost behind Gilbert Arenas in Washington.

We really need a strong, smart 4, more than any guard. Guards are always out there. Tmac can be a guard, if we had a good, rebounding three. I guess that's one way to look at it - paying for Bibby is kind of like paying for Shawn Marion. What skills would you rather buy? You can't get both. When we get Tmac and Yao back, they can work with an adequate but pugnacious guard like Sura, but they can't function as a contender with the likes of Howard and Swift. They need someone who can corral those Yao tips and Tmac misses, who can create space and lay down the law. We need a 4 at least as functional as a Horace Grant.

Brad Miller would be much more appealing than Bibby.

Sacto traded 1 good player with a bloated contract for trash last year. Let's hope they do it again.

    How about this one?

Sacramento gets: Ron Artest, Moochie Norris

Indiana gets: Stromile Swift, David Wesley

Houston gets: Mike Bibby, Anthony Johnson

If that is all Indy would want, we would just get Artest ourselves. He would be a better fit for our needs. Plus, you have us trading a big man away and not getting one back in return. We don't have the luxury to do that.

I would take Bibby, Peja or Miller.

I like Bibby a lot, but I think we have more pressing needs than PG if Rafer is healthy. Yes, he is a much better PG than Rafer but, unless we are talking about getting a good backup, I think we should worry about other positions other than the 1.

Peja would fit here nicely. He excelled being the 3rd scorer on those great King teams a few years ago and his is not a complete liability on defense. That extra scorer would certainly be welcome.

I've alway like Miller's game, which seems like it would compliment Yao perfectly. My only concern would be his ability to guard other 4's, especially those more quick-footed and athletic than himself. But, his rebounding and shot could more than make up for that. Plus, he brings a little of an attitude which the Rockets lack as well.

If what was originally posted is true, then it's nice to see they are looking at real, meaningful trades rather than the small, role-player deals we saw last season.

Um, why would the Kings want to trade Bibby? Isn't he their best player? That's a bit much, even for cap relief. I say lock this thread.

Hey, if we could get Bibby for expiring contracts, I'd do that in a second.

Such a trade would infuse the Rockets with renewed hope. It would create a three legged stool that would finally stand up. Bibby could and would punish double teams and set our dynamic duo free to do their thing.

    me too.

who are we to turn down a mike bibby trade? for those who wouldn't want to get bibby for wesley and moochie i ask, how do you know another trade is out there? who in thier right mind would trade us the kind of PF that we want (young, athletic, smart, good shooter/defender/rebounder)?

it's not out there. what is out there (at least a rumor that makes sense) at this time is bibby. i say take it if it's there.

a PG can make a huge difference on a team. look at the clippers and warriors this season. wouldn't you all have thought that they needed another good big man instead of a PG?

If we did this, obviously we'd give up Rafer.
