I didn't find this already, and I'm really surprised. Maybe I just missed it. On the Laker's/Sacto half-time show last night, they said Mike Bibby was out 6-10 weeks and might consider trading him, becuase Sacto didn't have a really servicable backup. I haven't kept up with Sacto so know if this is accurate, but if so, should we consider trading a couple of our PGs for Bibby? I would love to have him, but his contract may be too much. If not, though, he woudl be a huge asset when he comes back. Oh, and the injury is on his non-shooting hand, FYI. What do you think??
I would gladly give Steve, Rafer and someone else for Bibby in a trade. The problem is the contract, Le$ won't take it on.
Can we just send them a couple of our guards like Lucas and Snyder and just have trade exception or draft picks in return?
Actually, I thought for the Rox to trade for Bibby so he can help in the implementation of Rick's system..unfortunately, he got hurt...
I don't think a trade for Bibby would be feasible; his money's just too much for us to put alongside Yao and TMac's contracts. Wouldn't mind us trading some of the excess players to them though; granted, Lucas wouldn't be able to start for them, so it might have to be one of the three main point guards.
I don't know that anyone would trade for Lucas right now, when its very likely he'll be cut in a few days anyway.
we could give them JL3 for a draft pick, i think they will take it , and all they need is a backup pg, JL3 can be the prefect man
Seems like it would make more sense for Sac to trade a player from another position to a team that has a serviceable backup. Because if you trade Bibby away, you're still out a starting pg. I think the scenario the Rox can work here is to trade Lucas, Snyder and Sura to Sac for cash considerations and some possible draft picks...we rid ourselves of some contracts and the Kings gain some depth at the guard. I doubt the team needs any more players when we already have so many.
Well, trading Rafer Alston, Luther Head, Justin Reed, Kirk Snyder and Jackie Butler would get it done ... if we kept Sura, and retired him, and sent JL3 to NO, we could still get under the luxury cap, get rid of some of the players that don't fit, while upgrading at the PG spot big time. Mike James and Stevie could man that spot in the meantime, until Bibby got healthy. SAC would get out of Bibby's contract, and get an infusion of youth. We could sign Harris back and have a better team. I don't think SAC would be better, but they would have more talent for rebuilding. Of course, if they wanted to start rebuilding now, I'd love to take Artest off their hands in the deal ... lol ... but even though I believe Les would jump at this, I don't think SAC would, and I'm pretty sure Francis wouldn't like it a bit. But, just for dreaming ... Yao/Deke Scola/Hayes/Landry Battier/Wells/Novac TMac/James/Harris Bibby/Francis/Brooks
I am in hopes that we trade JL3 to them for a 2nd rounder/possible cash considerations. If JL3 is in high enough demand, maybe the Kings would rather not risk trying to pick him up via free agency? I don't think JL3 had a big enough following though.
Give them Rafer Alston and a big thank you card for taking him off the team's hands as well. He could be their point-guard while Bibby is out and they don't have to send us anything in return...just taking Rafer would be enough.
Y'all forget the all but concrete speculation that the Rockets had a genuine shot at Artest. The Kings GM was open to it, pending that V-Span stayed in the NBA of course... But the Maloofs nixed the scenario. They didn't want to give Adelman anything. I am not sure why they would have a vendetta with Adelman but apparently it exists.
