Mike Francesca and Chris Russo on WFAN in New York are talking to Jeff Van Gundy and they started talking about the teams in the West. After they mentioned the usuals, Blazers, Lakers, Spurs, Mavs, Jazz, and T-Wolves, Mike said that the Rockets are playing very well and are a hard team to beat right now. Looks like people (outside of Houston) are taking notice of the Rockets. Finishing .500 at the break was really big. Time to keep the momentum going and win the next four.
I think those comments have more to with the Rockets beating the Knicks twice than the Rockets being a real contender in the west. ------------------ "Relax... kids swallow quarters all the time. If she craps out two dimes and a nickel then start worrying!" -Grumpier Old Men
And now they are talking about how you can't guard Mobely and Francis -- that when you try, you are left with your "tongues hanging out." The Knicks can't play with them. The Raptors can't play with them. That you have guys like Bullard coming off the bench and nailing threes. That Hakeem is playing better as of late. They have a pretty easy game tonight to start the second half. Chris ends off by saying that they are four or five games back, but that he would not be surprised if the Rockets are making some noise aroud playoff time. I don't know how much these guys actually watch the Rockets. I doubt that it's that often. But still, its nice getting some recognition.
I thought this would be about Survivor ------------------ click here to see a legend Houston Rockets fun facts Moochie Norris Got the nickname "Moochie" from his grandfather, who liked the Cab Calloway song, "Minnie the Moocher" His full name is Martyn Norris
Thats exactly what I was thinking when I saw Van Gundy's name. Its too bad we can't play the Raptors and Knicks once every week or two because they seem so easy for us to beat, and they lift our confidence at the same time. It is nice to get a little recognition from other coaches whatever the case. ------------------ "Steve is good.
