You know, what's funny is I thought LA would dominate this series and win in 5 or 6. But after tonight, even though LA won the game, I honestly think it might go to 7 games and I think Indiana can win now. Even though they lost, they were pretty close throughout with Reggie Miller having the worst game of his life. I know all the Faker fans are going to be going crazy after tonight, but they proved absolutely nothing. They beat a team whose best player played the worst game of his life. Big deal. Reggie will come out ready to play Friday and dominate the Fakers. GO PACERS!!

Cat, they have to find a way to slow shaq down or they will get swept. I also picked the pacers in 6. Game 2 is a must win for the pacers.

Yes, they do have to slow Shaq some. But not a lot- they can let him get his points and shut down the others. I know Shaq had a good game tonight, but the key factor in the game tonight was Reggie shooting 1-16. That cost them the game, and that's why I think the Pacers can win. For the most part, the Pacers played the Lakers close with their star having the worst game of his life. They will win game 2 though.

CK: No, he didn't hack anyone tonight and get away with it. He played well, and Reggie choked. The Lakers star scored 43, and the Pacers star shot 1-16. Typically when that happens your team will lose. But it won't happen again. Reggie will be ready Friday and the Pacers will win.

For starters, double O'Neal from the beginning.

Portland pushed it to 7 because of that.

Indiana has the talent. They seemed too
    passive in the game.

    They're right there.

Please save us from another year of NBC/NBA
    lakerhype, Indiana...

It wasn't as much Indiana being too passive as it was Reggie shooting 1-16. Point blank, that cost them the game. We can sit here and analyze this all we want, but it all draws back to one thing: Reggie choking. Plain and simple, Reggie let them down, and he knows it. Look for a big game out of him Friday as the Pacers will win handily.

    This is just like NBC.

I see it clearly now. Tonights game was typical NBC. They have the Pacers to be blown out. Now, the Pacers will make game 2 close, but will lose again. I see a 6 point loss and another 40 point game by the Big Aristotle.

Then, the Lakers will get over confident as the NBA world hands them the crown early. But wait, Reggie wakes the hell up and average 30 points a game and propels Indy to the first 3 game home sweep. But, in the end, the refs will foul Smits and Perkins out and the Fakers will win.

Damn NBC. Damn the NBA. Damn Bob Costas. And damn the powers that be! Damn, damn, damn!!!!!!!!!!

Why watch this? Its been written already.

Indiana's defense was pathetic. Absolutely pathetic. The difference in their intensity from playing the Knicks and playing LA is like night and day. I just don't get it- what the hell does it take for you to get up and play your A game on defense? Portland's defense made those guys look like the friggin' Clippers.

Almu, the Lakers, really Shaq, is already over confident. He's been quoted saying that after the Portland series he felt like he already won the title(or something like that).

The Lakers should feel lucky. If Reggie hit even 5 or six of his shots, this would have been a different game.

Reggie shot 1-16 because the Lakers defense didn't allow him too many catch and shoot opportunities that he usually excels at.

And don't be suprised if Shaq averages 40 for this series. Portland did a good job because they had Sabonis, who is 7' + and 330lbs and they could also throw Jermaine O'Neal and Brian Grant against Shaq. Rik Smits isn't half the center Sabonis is(literally, look at him) and how seriously do you take a 7'4" center who only averages 3.4 rebounds a game in the playoffs?

The Lakers will win in 5 or 6. Accept it and figure a way to beat them next year.
