    i got a new computer, and i decided to configure outlook to check my email accounts. on my old computer i did this, i had my att accnt, and 3 hotmail accounts all working beautifully (in outlook express - winxp)

    so now i got a new comp and tried to set it up again, except now, it wont save my password, its synchronizing all my accounts to have the same folders and messages in them as one of the hotmail accounts!! anyone got any ideas?? ive tried both outlook and outlook express, andi downloaded all the updates from microsofts website but still no luck.

    Tools --> Accounts --> mail -->

    select the mail account. Click on Properties--> Servers(Tab) --> Check Remember Password

    i did that, but it keeps prompting me every time for the password. it shows the box as checked. when i goto properties, i check the box, enter the password, hit apply, hit ok. then when if i goto properties again, it has the box checked, but the password is gone.

    I had the SAME thing happen to me.

    Pissed me off so much.

    I had to get the Comcast guys here to come and fix it (free of charge).

    All I think they did was set up a new LAN or fix POP3 configurations.

    I have seen that before. That time the Outlook Express was screwed. Re-install it or better still, give up Outlook Express for good. It's riskier than unprotected sex. :p
