Can some of you fellow basketball stat geeks tell me which spreadsheet software you use to copy/paste basketball box scores into? Every time I use MS Excel it automatically transforms a fraction into a date, which is so annoying. Also is there any software that can add fractions in such a way: for example 3/4 and 2/3 so that the result becomes 5/7 (FG)?

    Thanks!

Make a column for FTM and FTA, and another column (called FT%) which divides FTM/FTA. Make it easier on yourself, yo. The place from where you're stealing these numbers probably has a script that does that, and writes "Made"/"Attempts" with variables and a forward slash, so to you it looks like a fraction that you're stealing.

Format the cells before you paste it in there. It will not change to a date.
