I love Apple products, but I think this is the most effective ad Microsoft has ever created. When she says, "I'm not cool enough to have a Mac," the word 'cool' is code for 'rich'.
Well, you only have one company producing Macs. Many companies produce PC's. There's more variety and more opportunity to find a good deal with PC's.
Microsoft has been coming on pretty strong with their advertising for a while now while Apple has been recycling the "I'm a Mac, I'm a PC, I'm smarmy, I'm r****ded...etc" ads for years now.
I think some of Microsoft's ads against Macs seem almost desperate and reactionary, but this is the best one they've made by far. Instead of being counterproductive, this might be effective.
yeah definitely.. you're absolutely right! my 4 gig RAM, core 2 due processor, GeForce Nvidia 8400 graphics, 17 inch HD screen HP laptop that I got for $950 doesn't have the amazing features of a 3000 dollar mac such as the "wiki wiki wiki" DJ'ing thing on the mouse or the scrolling down using 2 FINGERS!!!! in addition, it's no where as glossy and shiny as your 3000 dollar mac! but just like your words of wisdom suggested, "you get what you pay for" in terms of how shiny and glossy your personal computer is.. and omg, how did I forget about this? my laptop doesn't fit in a manilla envelop! FAIL! good luck running my engineering and CAD programs on your "glorified netbook" (phrase courtesy of Pizza_de_hut), or achieving anything useful other than DJ'ing and browsing facebook
Like this amazing new apple macbook wheel http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0Gzq-QEt0s "I'll buy just about anything that's shiny and made by Apple"
I won't lie, I've used Macs for years in school and I like them more. They seem to have a certain simplicity that I find enamoring. The cost gap between PCs and Macs is just bigger than the quality gap, IMO. I'm "ok" with my PC.
Pretty Good The thing to me is this. . . .. MOST people. . . get TOO MUCH computer anyway 4 Gigs of Ram . . .Pentium 4 . . .. blah blah to surf the internet and play freecell I'd say most people could get by with a 300$ computer I Gig and 1.0 Ghz and not even be able to really tell the different Rocket River
Im a total PC guy. The biggest advantage of a Mac is how simple and clean everything runs on the machine. They're just easier to use. Besides all of the photo, video editing and music production Macs are known for, they really appeal to simple and casual computer users. For example, deleting something on a Mac, all you have to do is drag it to the trash can and it deletes everything about that program. With a PC, you have to go thru Control Panel, Add Remove programs, etc... I'm just a type of person that is willing to sacrifice a better user interface for the ability to do more with my PC.
My Macbook is worth it. It's a pretty good ad by Windows, but the one with the little kids saying "Blah Blah look at me, I'm 6 and I know how to use a PC PC PC PC" are stupid.
