The person that runs our office is an absolute micro-manager. The worst part of it is that they think that they aren't. "I don't want to be a micro-manager but..." is a sentence often heard from this person. They ask for ideas and then angrily shoot them down when offered. They are also really condescending and disrespectful to others in the office. How do you guys deal with this type of stuff?
Fortunately I've never had to deal with it and couldn't work for a micro-manager. Based on your OP, start looking for another job and leave.
Well I have a micro-manager as well. She/he is so busy that he/she decided to hire an additional manager to micro-manage all of the stuff she/he can not get to.
Mulder, is it the guy in IT that likes hockey? He used to be my supervisor... not manager, just supervisor.
My company is dealing with that from the other side of the world. Our parent company and CEO is in New Zealand. He's started micromanaging us lately and it gets a bit annoying...more so when you consider the time difference. Their morning is about 2 pm here. That's when the calls start. Luckily, they're also a day ahead. We don't have to worry about them on Friday because it's their Saturday.
Well, I generally come in at least fifteen minutes late. I use the side door, that way Lumbergh can't see me. Uh, and after that, I just sorta space out for about an hour.
