I'm thinking of other guys who has the same qualities as D-Wes ->a defender that can also shoot the 3 ball.Pitreus from the Warriors came to my mind. It seems that he can play D and has 3 pt range. Is he attainable ?
was dubbed the "french jordan" coming into the 2003 draft and was picked #11. he has very good size and former golden state coach eric musselman called him the best defensive player in the league as a rookie that being said the warriors are very high on him, and probably arent looking to trade him.
He is just what we need but he is under contract until 2007. No way the Warriors let him go, great talent playing for a rookie contract. We need to find someone like him in the draft, difficult but not impossible. Dannie Ainge found West and Jefferson without a lottery pick.
Nice under the radar guy that I agree would be a GREAT fit here. But I dont see the Warriors moving him here for what we have. The ONLY way you MIGHT be able to get him is if the Warriors wanted to move Murphy's or Foyle's terrible bloated contracts and a team insisted to include Pietrus to take on those albatross contracts.
I thought the Warriors were in salary cap hell especially since the BD trade but they actually have a team salary that is $7M less than the Rox. We are the ones that need to dump salaries and we are going to see a lot of roster changes in the next two seasons. 2004-2005 NBA PAYROLL Warriors $ 50,863,793 Rockets $ 57,787,423
That's only because in 04-05, Richardson and Murphy's extentions didn't kicked in yet. This past year they were still on their rookie salary, but starting next year they are going to have salaries in the $7-8 million dollar range and going up every year.
i like the french jordan...but if GS have him locked up they also have zarko carbarkaba (sp?) whose game i also really like...
yeah i think pitreus pretty good but what about Travis Outlaw from protland...if i can remember he gave tmac some problems when we played them...and he is an athletic freak..
Warriors aren't going to trade Peitrus. I'm sure they'd rather trade JRich and his contract before they trade Peitrus.
Hell, I'd take JRich if they want to dump him. Though I don't think they'd want to move him until they see what that backcourt can do together for a while season. At least not for our expiring contracts and whatnot.
I like him hes a nice player but i agree we dont have what it takes to trade for him but they do not value him over J Rich thats a bunch of BS.
