From wiki: On January 13, 2012, Sweetney agreed to a deal with the Vaqueros de Bayamon of the BSN, Puerto Rico's basketball league.

    To sum your question up:

Just think about how much he was having to eat in order to put on that much weight while still in the NBA. It appears that he was doing very little working out on his own time, but he was still working out and practicing with the team.

Thabeet needs to start go to dinner with Sweetney. Sweetney knows how to throw it down at the dinner table.

How could you do that to yourself when you have enough talent to make it in the NBA? What a shame !!!

In his NBA days I remember hearing about some medical issue that prevented him from losing weight. Not sure how much credence that has, but I hope he is able to control it

Mike Sweetney was never a good NBA player, and I was surprised he and Sean May were taken so high in the draft. Same player. Nothing more than a couple of fat kids who over powered the munchkins in college. Much like how Thabeet overwhelmed people with his height.
