I think the rockets should have made an attempt at Michael Redd during the last off-season. He'd be perfect in the Rockets' "system." He is deadly from 3 pt land, can catch and shoot and also get a shot off without having to putz around like mobley does. The guy makes three 3s a night on a team with whose 2 best post players are their point guards. Imagine how many he'd make with Yao kicking the ball out to him. Plus at 6'6" he's 2 inches taller than Mobley and would match up better against the taller 2 guards in the west.

Don't get me wrong... the Cat is talented and probably even more athletic than Redd, but not a good fit as a starter. He'd be a great 6th man a la Corliss Williamson or Vinnie Johnson, whose only purpose is to start scoring. The problem I have with him is the way he scores and misses. He rarely scores in the "flow" of the offense... he's usually half driving, or half breaking down the defender before pulling up for a mid range jumpshot. I think he might even better scoring when contested as opposed to when he's wide open. And when he misses, a lot of the time it leads to an advantage for the other team going the other way. When he's open for a 3, I never believe it's going in till I see it. His half set shot does not inspire confidence like a Ray Allen, Allen Houston or Redd jumpshot. It's like he hoists it up there like a shot put. I can't think of a single player aside from Brent Barry who has success shooting a set shot from 3. I'm wary of guys who shoot the ball differently from 3 pt range and inside the line.

Why would the Bucks trade Michael Redd? They just traded one of the best 2 guards in the league, Ray Allen, because they knew that Redd was ready to play major minutes. I agree that Redd would be perfect for this team, but it ain't gonna happen.

I thought he was a free agent after this season. But they could trade him...they already have Desmond Mason. But if they don't resign Gary Payton, then they won't trade him. They have so many forwards. Getting rid of one or two won't kill them...especially if they get Kelvin Cato and Bostjan Nachbar in return. ;)

I could have sworn we already have the number 3 three point shooter of all-time on our roster.

    ...who will retire very soon.

Glen Rice is not our future. Michael Redd is a good addition.

Why are user's first posts almost always about trades?
