I did a search and didn't see it anywhere but i was kind of shocked at what Irvin said. With all this talk about Michael Richards comments and racial this and that, im surprised they haven't made more debate about this subject. This is just one of the links i found but it's everywhere on the net.

    http://nfl-rumors.aolsportsblog.com...tony-romos-athleticism-is-due-to-black-ances/

"He doesn't look like he's that type of an athlete," Irvin said of Romo. "But he is. He is, man. I don't know if some brother down in that line somewhere, I don't know who saw what or where, his great-great-great-great-grandma ran over in the 'hood or something went down."

Patrick tried to suggest to Irvin that he shouldn't go there, but Irvin was having none of it, continuing:

If great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandma pulled one of them studs up out of the barn, 'Come on in here for a second,' you know, and they go out and work in the yard. You know, back in the day."

I'm a cowboys fan and Irvin is an embarrasment. He's freaking terrible and has the worst analysis of anybody alive.

And contrast that with Aikman, who is a tremendous color man right now... in fact, I think he's right on par with Madden.

I put him 2nd worst. Have you ever seen/heard Shannon Sharpe in action? Simply terrible.

Does this mean we owe this man an apology??? Or should Irvin be fired, too?

Irvin has grown on me over the past year. He seems like a big dumb teddybear that just wants to be loved.

This isn't bad at all, from Irvin's POV. He's a huge Cowboys homer and completely on the Romo bandwagon. I'm reading between the lines, and him saying the Romo is part black is his way of giving huge props.

I just don't see why it had to be Romo's great great great (etc) grandmother. ;)

What is it going to take to get Michael Irvin fired?

He is constantly in trouble with the law (still), makes racist comments, and is just a flat out BAD commentator.

Rush Limbaugh gets fired, Jimmy the Greek gets fired, Michael Richards is raked over the coals and is now in therapy, but somehow it's okay for Irvin to say racist stuff....

Don't get me wrong, I'm not condoning what those other idiots said, but this double standard is flat out ridiculous.

    This made me laugh.

Double standard? More like a triple. Not only is it accepted, most people will view it as funny and think nothing of it.

In a perfect world, we could all make fun of one another. I freaking hate this kind of crap; it only flows in one direction.

Amen to that. All good athletes must have "black" ancestors!

Well, Mr. Irvin - by your logic, every smart student or scientist must have some "white" ancestors.

    What a gigantic idiot.

I find Shannon pretty hilarious. He doesn't provide much insight and isn't what I would call a "good" analysts, but each time he does a highlight he sounds like he's doing some bench reps at the same time. Then it goes to the studio while Dan or Boomer are talking and Shannon looks like he's in la-la land.

NFL on CBS may have gotten James Brown, but without Shannon their show would be a complete bore. Boomer puts me to sleep, and Marino isn't much better.
