The leader of the band Spearhead This guy is a fantastic singer/songwriter/musician. He gives purpose to rap. Some music stores list him under "Acid Jazz." A towering man, figuratively and literally, one of the best live shows I've seen. check it out. Not sure if they'll play much music, though. Seems like they are talking more about his upbringing and race relations. It's on in Houston right now on 90.1. Other cities have different times to air this syndicated show.
I enjoyed it. I will definitely check him out next time he's in Houston. Music reminded me of a cross between Wyclef Jean and Ben Harper. Great messages in his music.
He also came up in the hip-hop thread. I mentioned Diposable Heroes of HipHoprisy and someone else pointed out Franti had formed Spearhead.
