Jason lives. http://www.vnufilmgroup.com/filmgroup/thr_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1001996393 Feb. 14, 2006 Bay revives 'Friday' for New Line Jason is coming back. Michael Bay and his Platinum Dunes are gearing up to remake "Friday the 13th" for New Line Cinema. The "Friday the 13th" series began in 1980, with Sean S. Cunningham directing the first feature, released by Paramount Pictures. After eight films the slasher series, featuring the masked killer Jason Voorhees, moved to New Line, which revived the franchise with "Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday" in 1993. New Line's most recent installment, "Freddy vs. Jason," in which Voorhees faced off against Freddy Krueger from the "Nightmare on Elm Street" series, was released in 2003, grossing more than $82 million domestically. "Why does Michael Bay keep on making mooovviies, I guess Pearl Harbor sucked..just a little bit more than I miss you"
Why do they feel the need to remake it? Jason just got successfully relaunched a couple of years ago.
TRIVIA: Who was the killer in the original Friday the 13th Movie? [Strange knowing that alot of folx under 20 have no idea] Rocket RIver
i miss you more than michael bay missed the mark...when he made pearl harbor i miss you more than that movie missed the point...and thats an awful lot, girl
Didnt Michael Bay make The Island?? That movies was a huge **** bomb, I knew after the first 30 mins I should have turned it off.. Friday The 13th should be left alone IMO..
Well if you happen to be Drew Barrymore in a tight sweater and blond wig it means you don't get killed.
Friday the 13th was a pretty lame horror film to begin with (although the gore is fairly creative and the final scene is well executed) and I wouldn't trust Michael Bay to improve it any. But as long as they feel they can make several tens of millions of dollars by recycling old and tired movie franchises, Hollywood won't give us anything new. People who like horror films should stick to Japanese films - they're actually scary (or at least freaky) and they're much more creative than anything coming out of America right now.
Friday the 13th was a dumb and boring horror movie. The might as well remake it, because they couldn't do much worse than the original.
