Miami Waives the Rifleman could he be a smoking gun for us?

    Mourning signed a contract Tuesday and practiced with the team in Miami, where he spent eight seasons -- a stint twice interrupted by kidney disease. He's expected to make about $325,000 for the rest of the season, based on a prorated share of the $1.1 million minimum veteran contract.

    Mourning may be in uniform Thursday when Miami visits New Jersey. He averaged 10.4 points and 7.1 rebounds in 18 games for the Nets earlier this season.

    To clear space for the seven-time All-Star, Miami waived forward Wesley Person, who had played only 27 minutes since Dec. 4 and was displeased with his diminished role.



    Would the Rifleman be worth the pick up? anyone think he could fit with this team

    He did a great job for us when he bricked that wide open three that would have won the Phoenix series for them at the end of game 5(?) in 1995. :cool:

    Shoot, that ball spun around in the cylinder for 1-2 seconds before it popped out. We were a 1-second drop away from elimination. Whew!

    It is already March 1. What is the use picking up a player that will not make your playoffs roster.

    I abelieve according to league rules, a player must be be on your roster before march 1 in order to make the playoff s roster. So I do not see us adding any more players unless it really calls for it i.e. a player picked up for regular season help only.

    Nah, he's kicking butts there. That's why we need Detroit to waive him. Who wants a crippled bench warmer? We need an butt-kicker.

    Wang zhizhi lives to fight another day! Wesley Person is pretty good though...in nba street.
