Maybe in 4 years or so, these kids from Mexico can beat the U.S. team. One thing for sure, if they lose (which is an almost certainty), they will talk trash about how they are the better team despite losing.

What happened to the Argentinians? I heard their youth soccer team is head and shoulder above everyone else in the world.

Just came back from watching/enjoying/celebrating the win.
I couldn't find the records and stats of how MEXICO is not better than the EE.UU. Please help me find the stats on how the two countries' U17 teams fared against each other. I can find the ones where Mexico has won more times against the U.S. in the major team, but not U17. Can you find it?

NBAHOU713, two EPL teams are already looking at two Mexican players. They've requested to talk to them about a possible contract. EPL > FMF without question.

Too bad you had to face Netherlands, U.S.
The U.S. still made a good showing, winning 2, beating contenders Italy.

    MEXICO: CAMPEONES

Do I really need to bring this back?

    June 11 2000: USA 3 - Mexico 0
    Oct. 2000: USA 2 - Mexico 0
    Feb 28 2001: USA 2 - Mexico 0
    July 1 2001: Mexico 1 - USA 0
    April 3 2002: USA 1 - Mexico 0
    June 17 2002: USA 2 - Mexico 0
    May 26 2003: USA 0 - Mexico 0
    April 28 2004: USA 1 - Mexico 0
    March 27 2005: Mexico 2 - USA 1
    Sept 3 2005: USA 2 - Mexico 0

I don't give a crap about what you did 100 years ago, fact is the United States now owns Mexico at the senior level.

BTW, congrats on the U-17 victory. Too bad the U.S lost 2 or 3 of there top players due to injury during the tournament.

Frankly, I'm surprised USA is that good at a sport that is probably ranked 5th in terms of popularity.

OK, we're talking U17 here, right? At least gimme that.
I said NOTHING about MEXICO being better than the U.S. in ANYTHING. Read my post again, please. Go ahead and post only the games you want to cite, knowing that if you post ALL of them, Mexico has won more times, regardless if you exaggerate 100 years or exactly since 1937.
I guess the Netherlands should have taken 2 or 3 of "there" top players just to be even, maybe? Too bad. I gave kudos on the U.S. Ohio win, but since we're DEAD EVEN on the qualifiers, neither you or I can say we're better. What matters is NOW, then, let's look at this next WOrld Cup qualifiers--DEAD EVEN. Look at the final standings. Hey, thanks on the congrats. You're a gentleman.

MartianMan, who did THAT survey? The U.S., right? NASCAR fans, right? ;)

I meant 5th in popularity in the US. Basketball, Football, and baseball are definitely more popular than soccer (or as you call it, futbol) in the USA.

No, only an idiot would think that. I just said that it was unfortunate, I would have liked to see how far our top squad could have gone. Also, I said congrats on your victory. Finally, I can say that the U.S. is better because in the last 10 matches, you've only won two games and scored three goals. I think that's plenty of evidence on who the better team is. Keep living in 1937. And that's all I will say on that issue.

P.S. Weren't you b****ing about people using the improper form of "there" a couple of days ago. Maybe you should follow you own advice.

Yes, US just happens to match well against Mexico, but overall, Mexico is just a better team and they can play with any of the worlds best and considered the one of the worlds best.(Brazil,Italy,Argentina) Regardless of the outcome in a Mexico VS Us matchup, Mexico is still the better team. :D

Mexican fans never cease to amaze me. Yeah, you dominate us, but we're still better. Your argument makes perfect sense!

    Just keep telling yourself that.

They do have a very good under 20 team, I'm not familiar with their under 17 team though. Their U-20 team won the last World Youth Championship, Lionel Messi played at a different level from everybody else in that tournement for them.

Most u-17 players don't end up playing for their national team anyways, it was a good tournament and mexico's team looked good - especially going forward - but I would've liked to see that game with Kerlon and without Anderson getting hurt.

I'll let the name-calling slide. Nice excuse, though.
    And I said thanks.
Yeah... last 10 matches... let's just pick what we want.

    MEXICO vs. U.S.
    All-time Head to Head:
    19 Won__ 12
    10 Drawn 10
    12 Lost_ 19
    78 Goals 48
    World Cup Qualifiers:
    14_Won____4
    5__Drawn__5
    4__Lost__14
    63_Goals_26
    World Cup Final Matches:
    0 Won__ 1
    0 Drawn 0
    1 Lost_ 0
    0 Goals 2

Ohhh... I'm so sorry... only the WORLD CUP FINAL MATCHES matter, huh? Silly ME, citing needless stats.
    WC '06 qualifier round:
Team MP W D L GF GA Pts
    USA 8 6 1 1 14 3 19
    Mexico 8 6 1 1 16 5 19
    Enough Said.

LOL... :D I am mocking YOU... That's why I added your quotes. Yes, I b****ed. I don't make that mistake. I mocked the way YOU did it first. ;) Read your post again.

    Touche.

Considering how bad the United States was from 1937-2000, I figured the overall stats would be much more in Mexico's favor. Just shows how much the tables have turned.

Only in Mexico is a record of 2-7-1 against an opponent considered to be quite an accomplishment. I take it that the next loss you have against the U.S. to bring that record to 2-8-1 will make the Mexican national team that much better than the U.S.!

What is this 2-7-1 ? Are those ALL the games ever, or only the 10 you hand-picked?

RocketFan007: we're dead EVEN. No? Check out the standings NOW. THIS WC's qualifiers is what counts. If you beat us again during the cup, you will have an edge... again... (why you gotta pour salt on open wounds? :( )

As you say, we're even over the games you handpicked. All that the U.S. fans are saying is that over the last five years, we have been a much better team. That's where the 2-7-1 comes from. If you want to go all the way back to 1937, I'll admit historically that you're a better team.

Dude, it is not hard to figure out - it is the last 10 games that the U.S. has played your country. Yes, all-time Mexico has the better record but I would guess that Cambodia, of all places, probably ALL-TIME has a winning record against the U.S. because frankly, uh we sucked up until the last 10 years or so.

The only reason why I even commented on this thread is that I find it so hilarious that despite being beaten time and time again in your last 10 matches with the U.S., you and others from Mexico keep making excuses how your team is better. Maybe you know this SwoLy or maybe you don't, but here in the U.S., you earn the right to talk trash when your team actually does something, like say win a match. Mexico and their fans in their last 10 matches against the U.S. haven't earned anything except a great big STFU. Run your mouths off when you beat the U.S. about 3 times in a row, okay?
