I work in insurance. One of the companies that I represent is Mutual of Omaha. We had a little PR gig today. Jim Fowler came into town with some animals and we did several appearances around the area-- mostly for schoolkids. When I got introduced to him, I shook his hand and told him: "I saw you on Seinfeld-- The Merv Griffin set show in Kramer's living room! He rolled his eyes, caught my gaze, and said, "That's a strange group of people..." What a nice man.
Man, I grew up watching that show every Sunday night. Marlin Perkins and Jim Fowler!!! Found this site, Check out the old video clips! Ahh the memories http://www.wildkingdom.com/history/
Yup... watching that show was religion growing up to me. Was Jim the one that was wrestling the anaconda on some swamp's edge? That anaconda had Marlon and him in a vice grip.
He told a funny story about giving an anaconda a bath in a hotel one time. He hoisted the thing up onto his shoulders and stepped outside his hotel room and somehow got locked out-- standing there in his underoos with a 16-foot snake draped across his shoulders.
Haha. No joke. "I kept a safe distance as Jim tries to put the lion in a bear hug to show us how strong the lion truly is. Oooh, that was close - good thing he can still hop on that other leg. That goes to show you how strong a lioness protecting her cubs really is. Now we better get out of here before we disturb her anymore. Meet you back at camp Jim!"
No ****... We watched it every week. One time, they were on the ocean, and were doing a show on sharks. They assembled the cage, then Jim spoke up..."I volunteered to go into the shark cage"... Volunteered my ass...we could see Marlin in the back, pointing a rifle at Jim!
easily one of my top 5 seinfeld episodes...merely for the part where George walks in and Kramer says, "oh, it's our good friend, George Costanza" and then just starts pointing and laughing uncontrollably. i love that gag.
