    Question:

My friend just went to work for a new company and they block access to Yahoo & MSN IM (& e-mail)...

    1) Is there any way to get around this?

    2) If not is there any other IM programs that are not so easily blocked? Do these work with people who are using Yahoo or MSN IM?

or is my boy just screwed????

    Thanks!

Try Trillian, it might work. It work at my last job where MSN didn't. But they block it where I work now.

It's a nice app that allows you to connect to AIM, Yahoo and MSN through one client. Be sure to get basic, which is free.

Yeah my company does the samething, however, some employees were allowed to use it. You have to have access to corresponding proxy server.

Netmeeting is ok for interal use.

We block messengers here, but you can get around it with GAIM. It also supports MSN, ICQ, Yahoo, etc. I prefer it to the actual messengers themselves.

If you downloaded the oldversion would you still be able to use it if the yahoo or MSN site was blocked?
