Clutchfans, Please chime in if you have experience with either Memory Foam or Latex mattressses. In particular, what brand do you have and do you feel it's worth it. Separately, is there anyone with memory foam or latex mattress toppers? Where does one go to find one in a store. How thick should it be? I realize that they can be ordered on line, but I'd like to get a sense for how they feel (and possibly smell). I've got a firm king mattress that's just a couple of years old, but wake up with back and shoulder soreness daily. Also my legs and feet feel numbish sometimes right when i wake up. I'm wondering if a good mattress topper might be what I need. (I'm a side sleeper) Also, if anyone has tips or suggestions, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=173575 i still highly suggest looking at my friends website for good prices.. www.sleepbetterstore.com www.angelbeds.com thanks
Thanks. I think they're in stafford, which isn't far away. I don't see any latex mattress toppers at your friends' store, but I'll call them. I need to see this stuff in person.
I have a latex bed and I like it. It's a Sealy Bellson Ultra Plush. Was it expensive? Yes. Worth it? I'd say yes since I like my sleep. I was about to go for a Tempurpedic but then got a good deal on the latex. Just remember mattress places are like car stores, you can always bargain and always leave if you don't like the deal. I got 2 latex pillows and bed/pillow covers thrown into my deal. The pillows are nice since they don't flatten over time like traditional pillows and not lumpy like memory foam pillows.
heydude is correct cause thats where i bought mine. fyi, the district mgr happened to be there and thats who i dealt with, so maybe that factored in the good deal i got.
i tried the memory foam mattress in a hotel once - not a big fan of it because it just feels too hard at first... i swear by these and have them in all my homes: http://www.hastens.com/en-us/ and here is another good maker as well: http://www.duxbed.com/
I have a solid latex mattress (some out there are spring core with latex shell, mine has a latex core) It is a Sterns & Foster and it is a plush model. I got it when Macys was having a big sale. I checked around and the price was really good for the model. I went latex because of the heat issue with memory foam - I am always hot at night - and because Tempurpedic always felt a little uncomfrortable for me. The latex is firm but not hard and it gives well in the pressure areas. One thing to note - my latex mattress is heavy. Over 200 pounds for a king. My old house was two stories and they hated getting it upstairs for delivery. I had to make an adjustment once on my wood bedframe and, man, was that a monster to move around. Before the mattress, I woke up all the time with neck and shoulder pains. These days, I rarely get them and when I do it is only neck pain because my pillow goes crazy on me or something.
Man I can't wait until I get a temper-pedic mattress. My brother has a baller one..california king if I'm not mistaken
I'm tempted to buy <a href="http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Serta-Rejuvenator-4-inch-Memory-Foam-Mattress-Topper/3298223/product.html">this</a> right now. I bought a 2" topper several years ago and it seems it's no longer as effective. :-/
I have a memory foam 2" thick mattress topper. It has made a terrible bed into a damn good one. Simply put: I was shocked at how big of a difference it made. Were I to put it on what is already a good bed, I might never get out of bed again.
Haha just saw this..I even referenced thegary's post but still managed to misspell it but i doubt its fake considering it's almost 4 g's
