LOL...at the people who say do not want to Melo. The guy is a legit top 5-7 player in the NBA. The Nuggets are a collection of knuckle heads and obviously when you put a whole bunch of them together its never a good thing. Obviously we have no chance at Melo, but if put into a good organization like the Rockets, surrounded by players like Yao, Martin, Battier, AB, etc. he would gradually rid himself of his thuggish mentality.
Yeah there will be a lot of guys saying that. they think his attitude is 'bad' or whatever. Not many times do you win a championship with a team full of saints Last year Kobe won a championship, before that Garnett. Jordan wasn't a saint either. I'd take Carmelo.
No Chance . . . He'd come here. Though, it would present a very interesting lineup FA Center/#14 Pick/Yao/Jeffries Scola/Hayes/Hill Melo/ Battier or Ariza Martin/Budinger Brooks/Lowry Like some of other fantasy lineups posters have proposed, this starting lineup is lacking seriously on defense. Though, they could score 102-104 ppg.
ARE YOU CRAZY?!?!?!?!? pg:brooks/lowry/taylor sg:martin/cbud sf:melo/ariza pf:bosh/scola or jordan hill depends which goes in the sign and trade to toronto C:Yao/draft pick now that right there is a dream team and will get you DEEP in the playoffs or even a championship.
If Melo asked to be traded this offseason we could trade Battier, Bud, D. Andersen, Scola (if he would agree) and future picks to the the Nuggets for Carmelo and C. Andersen. C-Yao, C. Andersen, Hayes PF-Hill, JJ, Hayes, 14th pick SF-Melo, Ariza SG-Martin, Ariza, JT PG-Brooks, Lowry Houston would be hosting a parade in June 2011.
So please explain how the rockets could keep all their highest paid players and add in bosh and melo?
I consider him to have the best individual set of scoring skills in the NBA regardless of what the numbers show. His ability to get to the basket and finish through contact is only matched by James. He has the length and touch to shoot from anywhere on top of that. Again, I don't care about numbers. Having said all that, he's a lousy defender and lacks any concept of team basketball. You still have to take a chance if a player like that is available because of his elite scoring skills.
Lmao @ the do not want posts. Melo is maybe a top 5 player and definitely top 10 player in the league. You must hold a serious grudge towards him if you "do not want".
I can't stand any Nuggets player and think he is a pansy, but to not want him on your team is just plain stupid.
I just think he is cancerous and selfish.....he is a great offensive talent, but doesn't play defense and doesn't pass the ball. Pass... DD
You don't need to be saint to win a title, but you do have to be truly committed to all aspects of the game, not just scoring. I just don't see that from Carmelo.
You guys are either crazy or just extra conservative minded. I would take Melo in a heartbeat Melo >>>>> Ariza, Battier, Martin, Brooks, or just about anybody else on our squad. Having said that, i still think that possibility of aquiring Melo or Wade is impossible.
