I watched the 2nd half of this game, and there wasnt a lick of defense being played on either side.

Still though, Melo is an amazing scorer - can he put it all together? He's CLOSE to being elite, but I wouldnt QUITE place him there with Kobe, LeBron, Wade.

Yeah not much of a defensive game, but it is still an amazing thing to score 47 although it is a preseason game.

you are right, for some reason, you just can't put him with kobe, lbj and wade. He is a great scorer, but for some reason he seems selfish on the court sometimes. I think he has the skills to be an elite in this league, he have incredible court vision when he wants to pass the ball, can play good defence again when he wants and is definitely one of the best if not the best scorer in the league.

Maybe it's just a label that gets stuck with him regardless of what he does? Just like the whole soft thing with Yao?

Still I don't like Melo though, the whole don't snitch thing is just ludicrous

Great effort regardless of the D. A 41-26 foul count, these refs sure love to blow the whistle.

Doesn't mean a thing in pre-season. They needed this against the Lakers and he was cold as ice every game except the first one. The gap between him and the Big 3 is still sizable. The difference between them and Melo is between the ears.

And he's just as capable of throwing up a goose egg against playoff-intensity D. Sort of shows the value of D, eh?

i can respect kobe, lebron and wade

but i do not like melo's character. he doesn't seem like a good guy compared to the other 3.

That's funny. I happen to think that melo is the most genuine of the four of them. Kobe and Wade are narcissistic jerks and Lebron's persona, though likable, also seems pretty fake.

I agree with this. I think out of all them melo is the only "real" one. Wade and Lebrons PR team keeps them from being real, theyre just paid puppets. And kobe is a rapist so I dont consider him much to begin with.

Melo is silky smooth, one of the top pure scorers in the game today. And about him being selfish, that's ridiculous compared to Kobe, Wade, and LeBron. He doesn't hog the ball like those 3 do. I don't know what some of you have been seeing. You guys just look at his braids that he used to have or the way he talks and make a judgment on his basketball game.

What I've been "seeing" is what Melo does in the playoffs compared to the others. He comes up short.

Why does Melo get such a thug image? Is it because of the Denver/NY brawl?

    I don't know.

I like Carmelo. He can post up, attack, or J you up anytime, anywhere.
