So I was wondering what songs cc members liked to listen to for mellow music. I figure there are a lot of artists I haven't heard of or singles that are pretty unusual for a particular artist that would fit the mellow theme. I'll start it off as I've got 3 so far, but am looking for more: Jeff Buckley: Hallelujah (just heard of this guy after his song was on a West Wing episode) Sarah McLachlan - Angel Don McLean - Starry Night (after hearing it on a Simpsons episode- guess you can tell where i get most of this type of music). Others?
I cant give you singles, but these albums are on my "chill out and do nothing in the back yard" rotation Shuggie Otis Becks last album The soundtrack from Stealing Beauty Pink Floyd's Meddle Coldplay ROBTTH Marley Box Set, Disk 2
Goldfrapp: Felt Mountain Aphex Twin: Selected Ambient Works Vol. II Dean Martin: just about anything Slayer: The Rosemary Clooney Album
I'm not sure if these albums are really mellow or not, but they are to me. "In a Silent Way" - Miles Davis "Tidal" - Fiona Apple "Sea Change" - Beck "Heaven Or Las Vegas" - Cocteau Twins "A Rush of Blood to the Head" - Coldplay "Crash" - Dave Matthews Band "No Angel" - Dido "Paint the Sky With Stars: The Best of Enya" - Enya "Idlewild" - Everything but the Girl "Mary Star of the Sea" - Zwan "Blue Lines" - Massive Attack "Fumbling Towards Ecstasy" - Sarah McLachlan "Meddle" - Pink Floyd (great choice, mateo) There are probably more, but these come to mind first.
the acoustic medley, just Bob and his sweet voice and his out of tune guitar. Rita found these recordings hiding in a vault and decided to share them with the world. great pick mateo
